Paul Walter Hauser was absolutely robbed of an Oscar nom for his role as Richard Jewell. He was spectacular and carried that movie.
this is the only film i’ve watched seven times in seven days. an absolute masterpiece. paul walter hauser was phenomenal in this role, and i genuinely can’t imagine anyone else playing it

There will never be a Norm Macdonald documentary great enough to appease his fans. It would be impossible to make one. That said, Judd Apatow did a great job with his. Hopefully, 50 other filmmakers will make 50 more Norm docs. Sigh.

my favorite kind of writing is the kind that makes you stop turning pages because one line has given you too much to think about.

Snickers sold $376 million more chocolate bars without changing the product. Instead, they used a simple strategy most marketers completely ignore. Here's exactly what they did (& how to copy them):

Years ago, anyone who had a poor experience would tell their closest friends or neighbors and that was the extent of their reach, but today ... With the reach of social media, customer reviews, etc., there’s just so much scale at our disposal. Whether it’s a great experience or a poor one, the customer has way more power to tell the masses their thoughts and it’s time for businesses to grasp that. I believe it’s incredibly important to start treating customer engagement as an offensive move versus a defensive one; proactive versus reactive by implementing a tactic I call "surprise and delight" - it's a way to light up a customer’s day without asking for anything.

4 minutes after the north tower was struck, an unknown occupant on the 77th floor took this photo. Keep in mind, this was 18 floors below impact.

I know it’s a cliche to describe what happened on 9/11 as being something out of a movie. But this footage taken by a man in New Jersey feels like a movie scene. You turn a corner……suddenly 9/11 is unfolding.

I've lived in the South for 32 years and don't own a single piece of camouflage clothing. I also don't own any golf shirts. Is that legal?

Watching Dominic West, an actual English actor, play an American who can’t do an English accent on THE WIRE is one of the funniest acting bits ever.
What foreign actor has done so many iconic American roles that you forgot they're not American?

There’s an episode from Cheers where Frasier and another guy are quoting from Richard II and Cyrano de Bergerac. 34 million Americans watched this episode.
Ten years ago you could make jokes about Jane Eyre and Dracula on twitter and most people would get them; nowadays I have to explain references to Alice in Wonderland and The Hobbit as if we’re living in a very on-the-nose film adaptation of Fahrenheit 451.

Why is it ‘cancelled’ in the U.K. but ‘canceled’ in the U.S.? Because we gave them that L in 1776.
