How in the world is there more debate on convention locations than an amendment to change our governing documents?

Dr. Iorg says, "moving [the Law/Sanchez Amendment] into the constitution further complicates the issue" and could have "all kinds of unintended consequences..." The "constitution is a legally binding document," so there are "legal and financial implications." #SBC25

Seems to me there are too many pastors who want to be in power and if they arenโt in power they will do anything they can, even using worldly means, to gain power. This is why there is needless, endless fighting in SBC. #SBC25
Iโm afraid the SBC I was raised to love and revere is headed on a course which will destroy it. Itโs not liberalism thatโs the problem as it was years ago. The litmus test is now how conservative are you? And if you arenโt really far right then not enough. #SBC25

๐งต In an absolutely predictable turn of events, it appears ratifying the #LawAmendment wonโt be the end of the planned disfellowshipping of SBC churches that allow women to use their giftsโwhether titled pastor or not. Disappointed but unsurprised.
Dr. Mohler says that โeven with the bylaw there will be churches who will be out of friendly cooperation with the SBC [but] wonโt be detected because they donโt use the word โpastorโ perhaps. Ok, so the SBC may have to address that at a future date.โ @baptist21 +

Iโve been to most all SBC meetings since โ94. When voting on BF&M2000 we had 60-80 lead female pastors/co-pastors. Now we have zero & some see it as more of a problem than 25 years ago! Beware when you hear talk of โliberal driftโ for it may be a Trojan Horse to get power. #SBC25

Fundamentalist Christians are putting the Ten Commandments in Louisiana public schools.
Now, their kids will know God is deeply offended by stealing, coveting thy neighborโs wife, coveting thy neighborโs goods, adultery & bearing false witness.
And this November, those kids will watch their parents vote for Donald Trump.

Thereโs no better example of Christlike humility and fairness than @bartbarber. We didnโt deserve his leadership, but Iโm sure glad the Lord allowed us to have it for two years.
In 30 years of #sbc ministry @bartbarber has been our finest President. His early apology and humble response to a possible censure vote today is but one evidence that he possesses the right character. Love you brother.

Hereโs the message being sent: If youโre a male pastor, youโre good๐. If youโre a female pastor of โany kind,โ it doesnโt matter how godly you are, we will act upon your church like we *say we will act upon churches with abusers or racists on staff.
