Blessed to have the opportunity to remain at the program that I have learned to call home since moving to Lexington… I am excited to announce that I have accepted the position of Head Coach for Frederick Douglass High School for the 2023-2024 season. #Stampede @FDHSBaseball
As a proud graduate (Class of 2017), I can easily say that my decision to attend Transy and play for @TransyBaseball was one of the best moves of my life. It has been crazy to watch how this program has grown since my time on campus. #FlyPios
Congrats, Men!! Proud of this group and happy to see them recognized. We will miss @gawright11 and @BraxtonHensley5 and hope to see the others continue to grow! #stampede🐎
Congratulations to our Broncos that were voted on and selected by the Lexington coaches for the 2026 All-City Team!!! #stampede🐎

💯💯💯
Overheard a parent talking about the importance of being on a “top team” so you could make it to the semifinals of a tournament so more coaches would watch you play.
My thought? Be on a team whose coach can pick up the phone and get people to watch you play whether it’s on the premier field or on a field in the middle of no where.
In my personal experience, most scouts are cleared out by semifinal and final day anyway!!
Scouts show up for good players, full stop!
Was a pleasure to get to be a part of your journey @Tyler_pyles23 !!! Great way to end it!
🚨 ALL-AMERICAN 🚨
A HUGE congratulations to Tyler Pyles for being the first NAIA Baseball All-American in program history for @MidwayUBaseball!
The southpaw finished the year with an 8-1 record and a 2.00 ERA. He also struck out 92.

The last person the Douglass program wants to honor tonight for our Senior Night is beloved teammate and friend to so many, Matthew Perrine.
The Broncos all feel so fortunate for the time and memories we have with Matthew as a part of our baseball program. We know he is looking down on us and celebrating all his teammates on this Senior Night. Once a Bronco, always a Bronco!

Congratulations to @gawright11 & @JaxDunn15 for their selection on the 2026 All-Tournament Team for the 42nd District. #stampede🐎
Someone come get this man!!! An absolute joy to coach and a fantastic human…. Oh and he is FAST FAST💨💨💨 #stampede🐎
Every year is a new challenge.
Every year is a new reward.
And every year is memorable.
Thank you Class of 2026, you left this program better than you found it.
The work for 2027 has already begun. #stampede🐎
2026 was a season full of ups and downs, like many seasons are. Proud of these boys and they way they learned and were forced to grow along the way.
In 2026 we saw:
-The program grow to 62 players, the largest in program history
-Varsity record most team Doubles in a single season
-Varsity record most team Base on Balls in a single season
-20+ wins for only the 4th time in program history
And yet, it felt like we left some out there… But that is what makes this program and these guys successful moving forward. The expectations of greatness in their minds are why this program continues to improve and head in the right direction. A large portion of this is thanks to the 2026 Seniors. Thank you for leaving your mark on this program.
Thank you to every player, coach, family member, administrator, sponsor, and fan that supported us along the way.
2026 ✅
2027… Here we come.

As an AD, I remind our coaches their job is to develop athletes but also play the best players to win. There will always be parents upset about playing time, and there will always be parents upset about losing. So you might as well coach to win while continuing to develop your athletes the right way.

LHP Leighton Harris (@UKBaseball) sunk it out of the 'pen at 89-90, up to 91. Showed both a tight SL & a CT. Flashed CH w/ some depth to it. Soph./'26 elig.
Young, hungry, and with something to prove… Cannot wait to see what the 2026 Edition of @FDHSBaseball can bring! Let’s Ride, men! #stampede🐎

Every Sunday night I have college hitters send me their weekend at-bat videos asking what’s wrong with their swing (or just to break it down).
Spoiler: it’s “almost” never the swing.
Timing and plate discipline.
Every. Single. Time
For all of the volunteers that I suckered into helping make this vision become reality…. Thank you!!!
If you are given something not up to standard, fix it yourself. A great baseball movie once said… “Build it and they will come.”
Build it, we shall. #stampede🐎
🔥🔥LOCKER ROOM UPDATE🔥🔥
Beginning in August, this project is the result of hard-work with plenty of blood, sweat, and some tears along the way.
From re-claimed lockers in a Uhaul from Oldham County to a brand new again feeling, we always strive to give our boys the best. Even when we have to do it ourselves.
Absolutely no telling how many hours this project took… pressure washing, sanding, painting, and installing 24 lockers with new banners, historical records, couches, player nameplates, and tables was no small feat.
But giving the boys a place they can be proud of….. WORTH IT ALL !!!
Thank you to @SOHSDragons for the lockers for this project! Thank you to the many volunteers that helped make this possible. Thank you to @Mints2u29 for filming our tranformation! Thank you to @FDHSATHLETICS for the support with this project!
Before Pictures & After Videos highlight our much needed improvements. #stampede🐎
Also… Huge thank you to my Alma Mater, South Oldham High School, for the donation of their old lockers following the construction of their new football fieldhouse!! Thank you!!!
