It turns out that if you just arbitrarily add 4% to your preferred party, the polls look really different! (And add up to more than 100%, fine, stop quibbling)
Published headline polling continues to rely on a methodological sleight of hand: discounting Reform support by four points through legacy turnout weighting while assuming full legacy party recall. In raw voting intention tables, Reform is already at 29%, breathing down Labour neck while the Conservatives stall in the low twenties. The uniparty uses weighted polls as psychological reassurance; the real arithmetic shows a dead heat across key parliamentary battlegrounds.

The consultation analysis literally reports responses of British citizens to each question 🙄 I wonder why she ignores the fact that 77% of British citizens disagreed with the proposals? assets.publishing.service.go…
This is MIND BLOWING. This Labour Government is making migrant policy to suit the wishes of foreigners and not those of British citizens. This is a national outrage.

1/9 We’re told England’s rise in the PISA rankings proves Tory reforms raised standards. But rankings alone cannot establish that. Comparing 2009 with 2022, the last PISA assessment under their government, the scores tell a more complicated story.

Two key snap charts on the Budget... 1) in sheer numbers of policies, it's the "busiest" Budget in modern history. 98 different scorecard measures(!) 2) BUT the average VALUE of those measures was the smallest on record. Every little helps? Or too much fiddling? Views may differ

The previous government killed most of the rabbits and the US President mopped up the rest with his war on Iran
While this is welcome, it's indicative of what I think the entire theme of the budget will be. Moving gas standing charges to unit costs will save the average household about £25 per year. And that it may not happen for two years is just nuts. Tinkering around the edges and kicking things into the long grass. If there's no serious moves that will help people in the short term, the budget will be lauded as a disaster. The cost of living measures leaked so far, just aren't good enough and will make zero difference to anyone. Let's hope for more than one significant rabbit later.

Why is she so exercised about the Northumberland Wildlife Trust buying land in Northumberland? Weird… £2 million is - for example - a lot less than Victoria Atkins has herself cost taxpayers since being elected as an MP in 2015
Spending nearly £2 MILLION of taxpayers’ money on nationalising our countryside! Why is this government using taxpayers’ money to price out local farmers and landowners from this land? This is no way to deliver proper outcomes for nature. Yet again, Labour demonstrates they do not understand the countryside. Anyone with some common-sense knows that the best results for nature come from local people who actually know and work the land. That’s why the @Conservatives will empower farming clusters, scale up Landscape Recovery Schemes and make DEFRA work FOR, not against, our countryside and coast.

How are Thames Valley Police performing? The inspectorate said - yet again - in July that it still wasn’t good enough. Weak leadership was identified as one among many issues hmicfrs.justiceinspectorates…
👮 How are Thames Valley Police performing? Yesterday, Matthew Barber (Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley) publicly held the Chief Constable Thames Valley Police to account at the latest Performance and Accountability Meeting. This is a key part of the PCC's role in ensuring policing remains transparent and focused on the issues that matter most to residents. These quarterly meetings are open to the public and provide the PCC an opportunity to scrutinise police performance and ask important questions. 🧵 Wow - this article is bordering on unhinged! Apparently the BBC is akin to a “North Korean re-education camp” for teaching children about net-zero and covering both the pros AND cons of immigration Join me for a masterclass in cherry-picking and context stripping to brainwash your own readers👍🏻

Are the Tories still crying about not being able to force a right-wing Mayor on Milton Keynes? The economic argument for including the whole of Northamptonshire is weak & there is a good administrative argument to stay well away given how poorly governed Northants has been

AI massively reducing productivity as every transaction is forced offline due to AI crime has been underpriced
SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios. The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios. Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said. Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior. Read my latest for Axios here: axios.com/2026/10/22/ai-agen…
