Arrested Development fans need to let that show go & stop referring to every actor from it as their AD character name whenever they pop up in the millions of shows & movies they do every year. It's not rare! Also you know you can go ahead and stop quoting it.
I hate this time of year, baseball is over, sunlight is going away and I know winter is going to be fucking miserable. Fuck this gay earth. I wish I could hibernate from November to March.

About the ongoing revolution in America, Swedish King Gustav III writes: “It is such an interesting drama to see a nation create itself, that I, if I now had not been who I am, would go to America to follow up close every phase in the emergence of this new republic. This is perhaps America’s century. This new republic […] may perhaps take advantage of Europe some day, in the same manner as Europe has taken advantage of Europe for two centuries.”

One great thing about Hocus Pocus 2 is every single scene with the witches is the 3 actresses on camera in the same shot at the same time, in very long takes, 3 Stooges style. It was probably done to speed up filming but you get to see them play off each other.
I don't get what Kathy Najimy's character in Hocus Pocus 1 or 2 is supposed to be. Is it a Larry Fine situation where it's a sort of nuanced ultra-specific weirdo?
Baseball is the only sport where it's almost as good listening to it on the radio as watching it, because it's so slow and turn-based. (The real heads say it's actually better on the radio.)

How is this news? One day you're talking about Osama bin Laden and the next you're talking about this guy. Well only one of these people is going to have a 500-hour documentary series made about his personal jihads and atrocities committed, my friend

The other biggest point is that the Jedi code was so sacrosanct that it could never be violated whenever the code gave a negative outcome for Anakin, but suddenly, when the Jedi code was finally in his favor and dictated keeping Palpatine alive, instead, Palpatine was to be killed in blatant violation of the code.
The Jedi all of a sudden were willing to throw the code out the window when it benefited them, but never when it benefited Anakin. Which is why Mace Windu, instead, ends up thrown out the window.
I wonder why young guys relate to this story so much and find it so compelling.

Last year in Ontario, a male bus driver showed up to work like this — mini skirt, frilly blouse, and nylons — and called his bus the "Lolita Line." He was dismissed. Now, he's pursuing a human rights complaint for anti-trans discrimination. My column:
