I dislike the Americanisms creeping in here. We need a British equivalent - eg "skip snatcher", "bin burglar" - the possibilities are rife. One must maintain standards.

Four thousand years ago, Indian merchants were living in Mesopotamia in large enough numbers to have a village of their own and a professional interpreter to deal with them.
Texts from Lagash written towards the end of the third millennium BC, record a village of Meluhha inside Sumerian territory. Meluhha is the Sumerian name for Indus-Sarasvati lands. The Louvre holds the cylinder seal of a man called Shu-ilishu, whose inscription describes him as an interpreter of the Meluhhan language. Around 2300 BC, Sargon of Akkad boasted that ships from Meluhha, Magan and Dilmun were moored at the quay of his capital, Agade.
Indus seals have been found at Ur, Kish and Nippur, while hardly any Mesopotamian seals or objects have been found in the subcontinent, suggesting the pro-active merchants were Indian. The monsoon blows one way across the Arabian Sea for half the year and back for the other half, so a merchant who sailed west could spend months in a foreign port waiting for the wind to turn. This goes a long way to explaining both the village and the interpreter.
The Sumerians knew perfectly well whose ships were tied up at their quays, and they wrote the name down.
Episode 3 of my graphic novel, Maritime World: The True Cradle, is called The River That Fed the World and follows one of those merchants from Lothal to a Sumerian market and home again. Link in the reply.

Israel is a country where people of many faiths practise their religion openly.
Jews, Christians, Muslims, Druze, Bahรกสผรญs and Circassians all have established communities and religious institutions.
Today, over 20,000 Hindu workers live and work in Israel! They practise their Hindu faith, celebrate festivals such as Ganesh Chaturthi and enjoy the same basic labour protections as other workers, including the statutory minimum wage.
For Hindus living and working in Israel, the ability to worship, celebrate their traditions and live with dignity is a meaningful expression of pluralism.
Ancient Indian wisdom applies to us as well:

Israel will continue welcoming our Indian brothers ๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฎ๐ฑ

Deep scarring is plain as day on the back of the head of the hero pilot, Captain Smit Machchhar.
Remember when online lunatics tried to say the attack was a โfalse flagโ or some sort of fake conspiracy?
Shame on them.

We need to get organised. A broad, trained, connected, and prepared group.
The alternative is relying on current leaders to do the right thing. Now Iโm all for optimism and a positive attitude, but at some point it turns into fantasising.

Tax rate on cash savings interest set to hit extraordinary levels from 6 April 2027:
24% with ยฃ1,000 allowance for basic-rate taxpayer;
44% with ยฃ500 allowance for higher rate;
49% with no allowance for additional rate.
Surely boosts demand for short-term, low-coupon gilts.
Buy gilts and help the government borrow more or buy gold Britannias and sovereigns to escape CGT

The "do no harm budget." UK has gov spending near 45% of GDP, debt near 100%. Tax revenue at levels never sustained in the UK before. Crazy fiscal drag. Concerning high income emigration. That's harm enough. Fiddling with cash ISAs and marmalade prices doesn't cut it.

Indian-Americans may be facing their worst wave of hostility in the United States in half a century. The irony is that they are under attack not because they have failed to make it in the US, but because they have succeeded so spectacularly.

This year alone, more Christians have been killed by Muslims in Nigeria than Gazans in three years of war.
Not a single Muslim or pro-Palestinian activist has protested like they do for Gaza. Weird.

Indians and Israelis, wherever they go are loyal to the land they live on. A hindu and a jew in the US/EU are both american/european first, and hindu/jewish later.
Concept of โkarmabhoomiโ and โpitrubhoomiโ is something Israelis and Indians both understand well :)

โThere is not in Europe any such thing as a pure race. Russians have an admixture of Tartar blood, Germans are largely Slavonic, France is a mixture of Celts, Germans, and people of Mediterranean race, Italy the same with the addition of the descendants of slaves from every corner of the Empire imported by the Romans. The English are perhaps the most mixed of all. There is no evidence that there is any advantage in belonging to a pure race. The purest races now in existence are the Pygmies, the Hottentots, and the Australian aborigines; the Tasmanians, thanks to the British, who were probably even purer are now extinct. There is a special absurdity in applying racial theories to the various populations of Europe.โ
