Trump's D.C. Chainsaw Massacre: Over 500 Historic Trees Gutted to Build a Millionaire's Golf Course Donald Trump has begun actively destroying hundreds of trees in Washington, D.C., and the lack of mainstream coverage is absolutely criminal. Please scream this from the rooftops and spread the word immediately! These aren't dead, dying, or invasive trees — these are perfectly healthy, decades-old oak and maple trees that are being brutally clear-cut. This disturbing footage from Rick Maese at The Washington Post exposes the truth: the Trump administration is massacring upwards of 500 healthy, historic trees at the East Potomac Golf Course. But honestly, why are we surprised? This is just the latest chapter in Trump's complete and utter disregard for our nation's historic capital. It follows the exact same playbook as his shocking demolition of the White House East Wing, and the disastrous, botched "renovations" of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool that left an iconic American landmark falling apart and peeling. To make matters even more sickening, they've even been dumping toxic debris from the demolished East Wing right onto this very public parkland! The National Park Service is trying to gaslight the public by claiming this ecological disaster is just routine maintenance, but we know the truth: they are gutting public land to build a glitzy, exclusive championship golf course. Residents across the city are rightfully furious and disgusted. Witnessing 500+ majestic trees being ripped out of the ground is an absolute horror show for the people living in this city. Do not let them slide on this. Share this everywhere, expose this environmental atrocity, and follow for updates.

Dan Patrick is a bully and a culture warrior. He is ruthless and mean. He presided over the trial of Ken Paxton after receiving a $3 million dollar payoff. You may have never heard of Vikki Goodwin. She is a policy wonk who works well with legislators who have opposing views. She is a big supporter of well funded public schools. The Houston Chronicle endorsed Goodwin over Patrick. acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aai…

His brain is broken.
Trump does an incoherent ramble as a confused audience listens in complete silence: "And you know what they're doing? They go straight down, you know, you can make those drill bits talk. You can make 'em sing, you can make them go, they go down. New York's over here, Pennsylvania-- they go down and they take a sharp left. And they suck our oil out. Can you believe it? Lines of different states, and you'll see one has Cadillacs, because they like Cadillacs better than they like Mercedes, but one has an Escalade, and one has a 50 year old Chevy. And you're talking about 3 ft. It's a line that goes right up. One has some beautiful drilling plants, and one has no drilling plants, it's got no money, it's got poverty."

Good question.
Replying to @steve_vladeck
@steve_vladeck In the Hasan execution matter: Who makes the decision to live stream? The conditions for an execution would seem to be judicial whereas Hegseth is executive. What’s the law say re that decision?

ONE OF SNL'S BIGGEST SKETCHES WAS BASICALLY A HISTORY LESSON THAT WENT VERY, VERY WRONG. “Washington's Dream” starts in 1777. George Washington gathers his soldiers and explains his vision for the new United States. At first, it sounds noble. Freedom. Equality. A new nation. Then Washington starts explaining the details. And suddenly the speech becomes an increasingly ridiculous list of things he supposedly wants America to become. The brilliance is how seriously Nate Bargatze delivers it. He doesn't play Washington like a comedian telling jokes. He plays him like a man delivering the most important speech of his life. That deadpan commitment gives every absurd detail more weight. The audience isn't being told when to laugh. We're simply watching a historical figure confidently explain a completely ridiculous vision for the future. And somehow, the more serious Bargatze becomes, the funnier the sketch gets.

RYAN GOSLING WAS SUPPOSED TO PLAY BEAVIS. THEN HE STARTED LAUGHING. That became half the sketch. When Ryan Gosling hosted SNL in 2024, he and Mikey Day appeared as live-action versions of Beavis and Butt-Head. The visual was already ridiculous. But the real comedy came from watching the cast struggle to maintain composure. Gosling looked completely committed to the character. Day did too. And then the sketch started breaking them. Not once. Repeatedly. The audience wasn't just laughing at the characters anymore. They were laughing at the actors trying desperately not to laugh at each other. That's an important distinction. Breaking character can sometimes destroy a sketch. Here, it became part of the entertainment. And viewers noticed. Within weeks, “Beavis and Butt-Head” had become the most-viewed YouTube sketch of Season 49, passing 13.5 million views. The costumes got the click. The chemistry got the replay.

Trump not only cut off US military assistance to Ukraine, but he is now providing Putin with new money to build more Russian rockets and drones to kill Ukrainians. Absolutely deplorable. TRUMP JUST BUILT A KANGAROO COURT TO FIRE A BLACK WOMAN OFF THE FEDERAL RESERVE 113 years. That's how long the Fed has existed without a single president firing a governor. Donald Trump is about to make history for all the wrong reasons Lisa Cook. First Black woman ever on the Fed's board. Appointed by Biden. Never charged with a single crime. Zero indictments. Zero convictions Trump already tried to fire her once. The Supreme Court slapped it down. So what does he do when the highest court in the land says no He builds his own court. His own jury. His own verdict already written Friday he signed an order creating a "committee of inquiry" to investigate Cook over mortgage paperwork allegations she denies. Pure fiction masquerading as due process Here's the punchline. The committee is three people. All Trump appointees. Including the White House's own economic policy official. Judge, jury, and the guy who works for the man trying to fire her November 5th, Cook has to show up to a closed-door hearing and defend herself to the people Trump handpicked to destroy her career. November 10th she can submit final paperwork begging for her job Then Trump's own committee tells Trump whether Trump should fire her. That's not oversight. That's a Truman Show set built around one woman's execution Ask yourself why Donald Trump wants her gone so badly. He's been screaming for rate cuts for years. Cook is in the way. Fire her, install a loyalist, and the Fed stops being independent and starts being a Trump subsidiary No president in American history has done this. Not Nixon. Not anyone. Trump is the first This is not about mortgage documents. This is about control. Total control. Over the courts he loses to, over the agencies he can't bend, over the last institution in Washington that still says no to him They built the cage first and now they're calling the hearing "due process" This is only the beginning

This is completely outrageous and disgusting. This must immediately be blocked by Congress and Trump should be impeached for this. The US is now funding Putin’s war machine as he murders civilians including children. We are lost as a country.

LOL, LOL, LOL — I guess he believes more so than ever before that if @realDonaldTrump can get away with the outrageous public lies & corruption when asked a question about it, he too can go all in.
We’re having a large tree cut down and removed from the backyard today. It’s in danger of falling. And it’s going to be quite expensive. My landscaping pro strikes me as a spiritual person. I hope he will realize that God does not want him to accept our money.

Disgust of Trump Reaches New Levels in Europe A gilded statue of Donald Trump titled "Orange Plague," also known as "King of Injustice," is on display this week inside the European Parliament in Strasbourg. Danish artist Jens Galschiøt was invited to show the work by Danish MEP Per Clausen. The copper sculpture, covered in 23-karat gold leaf and standing about 2.6 meters (8.5 feet), depicts a naked Trump seated on the shoulders of a much smaller, clothed man. He holds the scales of justice in one hand and a golf club in the other, beside a golf ball shaped like the Earth. The plinth reads: "I am sitting on the back of a man. He is sinking under my burden. I will do anything to help him. Except stepping down from his back." Galschiøt says the piece was inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's "The Emperor's New Clothes," the story of a vain ruler whose subjects are too afraid to tell him he is naked. "Trump represents one of the greatest threats to the rules-based world order, democratic values, and our common effort to solve the climate crisis," he said. "We must address this issue and stand together against such destructive influence."
