for anyone curious, From rough measurements of the map and heres what OP found (keep in mind the online map i used tends to display a little more map boundary than the in game map, so this is a pesemistic interpretation)
new map playable space: 43% of the space is playable, 57% is inaccessible
old map playable space: 56% of the space is playable, 44% is inaccessible
total map playable space: 50% of the space is playable, 50% is inaccessable
