Why am I so anxious? I ask myself as I refresh a “live” broadcast of a life-defining tragedy I initially experienced from an entirely different perspective at 10 years old

In 2014 I stayed in NYC and visited the 9/11 memorial. Returning to my hostel I spoke with the host and found out he had been a firefighter that day. I still think of him often and the look on his face as he told me about it.

Tim Curry’s legendary voice acting legacy deserves to be remembered as well 🎙️🕊️ Following the news of his passing at 80 years old, fans are remembering not only the unforgettable face behind The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Clue, and IT, but also the voice that quietly became part of countless childhoods. For decades, Curry brought the same unmistakable personality to animation, games, and some of pop culture’s most memorable villains. Some of his best-known voice roles included: Nigel Thornberry (The Wild Thornberrys) Hexxus (FernGully: The Last Rainforest) Captain Hook (Peter Pan and the Pirates) Palpatine / Darth Sidious (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) Professor Calamitous (Jimmy Neutron) Forte (Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas) The Cat King (The Cat Returns) Taurus Bulba (Darkwing Duck) Lord Dragaunus (Mighty Ducks) Dr. Anton Sevarius (Gargoyles) G. Gordon Godfrey (Young Justice) Zimbo (Aaahh!!! Real Monsters) and many more! For many younger fans, Nigel Thornberry may have been their first introduction to Tim Curry without them ever realizing it. Others grew up hearing him across Disney, Nickelodeon, DC, Star Wars, and countless animated worlds. Tim Curry may be gone, but his voice is still waiting inside the shows, films, and games generations grew up loving. Rest in peace, Tim Curry. Thank you for making those worlds a little stranger, funnier, and more unforgettable. ❤️🕯️

I’m not gonna lie The combination of Peter Cullen’s voice and that Linkin Park song just makes this feel like the greatest ending to any movie ever

My favorite will always be Tim Curry’s hell-raising sermon where he tricks the pirates who tried to mutiny him into making him captain again. 🥲🥲 youtu.be/vDbbGPcaTO8?is=NdNA…

No one has defined more high school midnights than this man. So many moldings of minds, first freedoms of expression

> be Tim Curry > lose your father at 12 and discover theatre as an escape > bluff your way into Hair and somehow get the job > become Dr. Frank-N-Furter and accidentally create a cultural phenomenon > turn Rocky Horror into a midnight-movie religion > become Wadsworth in Clue because apparently one iconic role wasn't enough > become Pennywise and give an entire generation a clown problem > play villains, heroes, weirdos and kings across stage and screen > earn Tony nominations, an Emmy and decades of devoted fans > suffer a stroke in 2012 and still keep performing and meeting fans > leave behind nearly six decades of unforgettable performances Some actors play characters. Tim Curry made characters impossible to forget.
HOLLYWOOD JUST LOST ONE OF ITS MOST UNFORGETTABLE SHAPESHIFTERS. Tim Curry has sadly died at 80. For decades, he could walk into completely different worlds and somehow become the character everyone remembered. • Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show • Pennywise in It • Wadsworth in Clue • Darkness in Legend • Rooster in Annie • Nigel Thornberry in The Wild Thornberrys After suffering a stroke in 2012, Curry faced a devastating new chapter, but continued performing and connecting with fans. His career wasn't defined by one role. It was defined by the impossible range of a performer who could terrify you, make you laugh, and leave you remembering him decades later. Some actors become icons. Tim Curry became memories.
