🇬🇧 In late 2008, a stray tabby began waiting for food at Southwark Cathedral in London. Staff named her Doorkins Magnificat, and she made the cathedral her home.
She wandered through services, slept in choir stalls and even slept through a visit by Queen Elizabeth II.
In 2018, her likeness was carved into a stone corbel on the cathedral. As her eyesight failed, she retired to a staff member’s home in 2019.
Doorkins died on September 30, 2020. The cathedral held a thanksgiving service and buried her remains in its churchyard that October.
