Let's think about things that we don't know. Written with the valuable help of my friend @n.dehouche.

DeSci Mumbai @EFDevcon is TOMORROW! 🇮🇳
Meet the people building AI tools for research, bringing robots into the lab and developing new ideas on @openlabsbio. Plus, see our lab robot, Robios, in action for the first time.
Register to attend or watch the livestream ↓
Decentralized science is coming to Mumbai 🇮🇳
The Bio community is bringing researchers, founders and builders together for an afternoon of DeSci + AI with the first live demo of our lab robot, Robios.
Join us November 5 on the same grounds as @EFDevcon.

A tipping point in medical AI happened in the last month.
No single thing, no single model, no single study, no NEJM or Nature Medicine announcement.
Just people building.
There are now agents available to do everything except the actual conversation between me and a patient.
It’ll take another few months for the companies to all sort themselves out, but we’ve crossed a meaningful threshold.
And in one tiny corner, I’ve already been replaced. In Utah, Nolla’s AI now writes the first acne prescription itself.
Now it’s just a matter of that corner growing.
God this is awesome.

Sensing happens on the nodes first, then flows over LoRa, Meshtastic, MQTT, Wi-Fi, LTE or satellite into MINDEX and NatureOS with provenance attached.

There are 4 days DeSciHub at @EFDevcon8 at Mumbai.
We will also invite @Spine_DAO to share their update during Devcon virtually.
Set your reminder and see you tomorrow!
Spine surgeons pooled their data and built an AI to get the right patient seen at the right time.
The community owns the IP and it’s now licensed to VECTOR SAS to bring it to clinics, with the royalty funding the next study.
That’s the DeSci loop, closed. FILTER live at @EFDevcon DeSci hub thanks to @DeSciIndia @DeSciAsia @messi_boii @swiftevo1

We’re taking the mic at the Devcon DeSci Hub with @DeSciAsia tomorrow. 🧬
Surgeon-built AI, community-owned IP, now licensed to reach the clinic. Dr. @challaire walks the full DeSci loop and answers your questions.
Bring the hard ones. Set a reminder.

There's a new version of this post
DeSci Winter is over. For all survivors let’s ship products that change lives.
Trad Biotech raised B’s last months, but blockchain is the only guardian of truth in science.
Tools are there. Le bisou!
WE’RE F*CKING BACK! 🔥
It took us longer than expected…
You can now join us at @SillageBase! 🔥
We told you we'd NEVER give up. And we meant it.
Months ago, we launched HELICE with the goal of helping medical innovation move faster.
We helped a patient get a (feet) prosthesis, and our token reached nearly €1M in market cap.
But we made mistakes. And we learned from them.
We've spent the past few months working hard to do things better.
Now we're back. And HELICE is becoming SILLAGE.
The relaunch is soon, with a new smart contract (do not trade the former one).
So, don’t wait another minute. Follow our new X!
See ya! 🖤

3-2-1... instead of using 3CO/three-column-osteotomy we should change this confusing terminology to:
transpedicular closing-wedge osteotomy: PSO, Schwab grades 3–4
and/or
vertebral column resection: grade 5–6 in the Schwab system.
If you grade it, you'll get it!
I recommend avoiding the term "three-column" to maintain consistency, as our instruction on spinal injuries utilizes a two-column model...
Past practices do not mandate the continuation of this tradition. It required significant effort to eliminate the "middle column" - the 3C-terminology surrounding deformity, ankylosed and fixed spine correction/stabilization procedures undergoes constant repetition by successive generations of spine surgeons; we should discontinue this nomenclature.
If we want a standardized label, we could use the Schwab grade. A PSO is grade 3, and an extended PSO is grade 4. This gives a common language across centers and avoids counting columns altogether.
