Total Chess format explained 🧐:
24 players are divided into 4 groups, where they each play 10 fast classical games.
The winner of each group advances to the semifinals, where all three time formats come into play: Blitz, Rapid and Fast Classical. 👀
The pilot event takes place from November 10–20, testing the format ahead of the launch of the Total Chess Tour in March 2027.
