Sending condolences to my friends @NBCLA on the loss of their helicopter crew.
Helicopters are essential to covering the biggest stories in the vast news market of Southern California.
I interned at NBC4 for years in college. Their team is filled with extraordinary people and great journalists. My heart breaks for their team and the loved ones of everyone who lost their lives.

From the NYFW runway to the Emmys red carpet. ✨
Shrinking star Michael Urie stepped out for the 2026 Emmy Awards in a Christian Siriano look pulled from the designer’s spring 2027 collection — but with a twist. Stylist Mikey Fusco combined the jacket from one runway look with trousers from another, creating an ensemble that technically never walked the runway.
Urie, who earned his second consecutive Emmy nomination for his role as Brian on Shrinking, takes Los Angeles Magazine inside his getting-ready process, from finding the look to getting carpet-ready.

Twenty-five years later, the memories of September 11, 2001, remain.
We spoke with LA first responders and members of the community about what they remember from that day, how it affected them and what 9/11 means to them today.
Today, we remember the lives lost, honor the first responders who answered the call and reflect on a day that changed our country forever.
We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith (@RHCPchad) brought some serious star power to Sherwood Country Club for the inaugural Golf Jam ’26. ⛳️🎸
Will Ferrell, Joel Madden, Anthony Anderson, Derek Fisher, Kevin Connolly, Yung Taco and more came together for a day of golf, music and philanthropy benefiting the Chad Smith Foundation.
The foundation works to give underserved young musicians access to instruments, music education, mentorship and scholarships — and the day ended fittingly with Smith, Watt and an all-star group of musicians taking the stage for an intimate live jam.

LA photographer Richard Podgurski Jr. was taking a nap Monday evening when a friend woke him up and told him he was “blowing it” by not capturing the rainbow outside.
Richard jumped up, loaded a charged battery and empty memory card into his drone and launched it just north of the Manhattan Beach Pier. The rainbow was so massive he couldn’t fit the entire arc into a single frame, so he used a series of panning shots to capture it.

Los Angeles Magazine got a firsthand look at what animal rescuers say is happening on Skid Row.
We followed a team of animal welfare advocates as they attempted to bust an alleged illegal breeder caught on undercover video trying to sell puppies for $100.
What unfolded took us from the streets of Skid Row to a Los Angeles home where dogs could be seen inside — and offered a glimpse into a much larger problem advocates say is getting worse: dogs being neglected, abused, bred for profit, sold and even exposed to dangerous drugs.
Federal authorities are now offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the successful prosecution of animal abusers under federal law.

If you happen to drive down this stretch of Sunset Boulevard, you’re not seeing things…👀
There really is a guy living inside a billboard.
It’s all part of Netflix’s latest promotion for The Last House, where a man is spending days inside a fully furnished home suspended above one of LA’s busiest streets.
Would you do it?🤔
