i also uploaded the individual tracks unmixed because i know not everyone wants to listen to songs in 30 minute continuous chunks, but that is how i would recommend listening to — think of it like a dj mix!

this was considered a comically scandalous amount of tattoos in 1988

Cool stuff by people who live on Twitter. Against all odds, they exist in meatspace too, which is kind of disappointing, but the sounds are good, so we'll let it slide.

my halloween costume yesterday was "no this is just what i look like." it's very conceptual, avant-garde even

"gay halloween" should be less about pictures from the internet and more about this kinda thing:
As far as I can tell from the annual spate of "I hate gay Halloween" posts gay Halloween is mostly where you dress up as a picture from the internet for Halloween. It's not really clear to me what's gay about this but I'm listening and learning as always.

there are also actual tapes too, i'm not just calling it a tape. they're not exactly for sale but if you want one lmk and we can probably figure something out. i'll put them on bandcamp after i get them to friends, but it won't be quick bc i'm making them myself one at a time!

the problem is that they redesigned the main room so it's not a dancefloor anymore, it's just a hallway that people have to walk through back and forth all night
i do miss when h0l0 felt like a basement you weren't really supposed to be in

i also love to roll up, not spend any money and then leave so these girls have my unwavering support 🫡
the "trannies need to tip their damn bartenders" discourse reminds me that, at one point, people hated tranny tuesday because no one paid cover, and no one bought drinks. I imagine as it's gone on the reputation has improved somewhat, but it was definitely a thing for a while.

last week one of my coworkers put on a Drake song where he interpolated Chooin' Texas and i felt like i was having an out of body experience. like i was hearing something that broke through from a different dimension
coworker metalcore isn’t even that bad. what’s bad is coworker edm or coworker drake songs. convinced coworkers have access to drake songs that aren’t available to the rest of us.

i like both songs and all of my coworkers' taste in music in general so i'm happy for what i get instead of having a metalcore coworker

You literally live in Brooklyn there was no 2000's nerds vs. hipsters thing you're just making that up because you have nothing more useful to do than think about movies

nerds vs hipsters was a real thing though. you can still find stuff nerds were saying about hipsters online from the 2000s and it's basically the same things you'll see in qrts now if someone gives a mainstream indie movie a bad review or if they like the wrong kind of indie rock

it feels like we're going through a resurgence of a 2000s-style Nerds vs. Hipsters thing, but this time along the lines of a new canon of stuff that everyone online knows (but your "coworker" has never heard of) vs. people in overlapping spaces who "performatively" break from it

similar to what's going on in music: nitter.cf/chronowerks/status/211…
there's a real divide between indie rock fans that like rock music with a weird, not necessarily commercial sound vs. people who like it because the college rock stuff from the 80s and 90s has become classic rock
