my three biggest gripes with the modern white hip-hop head 1) they don’t know about Raider Klan/ the South Florida sound Denzel, XXX, etc 2) they only know El-P and Killer Mike from Run The Jewels 3) they don’t know that Future is Dungeon Family

Definitely odd, but it happened organically. Not long ago they were playing shows to 40ish people. Word of mouth/videos got enough attention that I guess Sub Pop was interested. Weird to get a release like this from a major label, but I'm glad it didn't compromise their vision.

It's extremely well-deserved but still wild to see this be the highest rated album of the year. Really happy for them and so glad people are appreciating this album

I don’t really have any tolerance for horns in guitar music at all, Neutral Milk Hotel is okay but that’s pretty much it. It just feels like you’re trying to be funny or quirk chungus, it doesn’t feel like you have a respect for your own art.

His drawings for a thousand plateaus is actually what inspired me to start reading d&g (apologies for the poor picture quality..)

Something I don't see addressed when it comes to the "is rap dead?" debates is that rapper is by far the most dangerous occupation a musician can have. Cause of death for rappers by homicide is *51%*. The next closest in that tally is 1/5th that number.

I hate this idea so much. Over and over I’ve seen addicts excuse their addiction or even if they get sober they excuse their behavior while an addict on it being a disease thats out of their control. They abuse you while in addiction and then afterwards say they were suffering from their disease and that’s that.
