Matthew Schaefer is staying with Matt Martin & family again this season, the latest elite young #Isles player living with someone who knows life in the #NHL well. Could be the most fun I've ever had assembling. Enjoy. nhl.com/news/new-york-island…

Ex-#NYR Vincent Trocheck and ex-#Isles Anders Lee both said the other has been huge in their transition to a new club. β€œMy family and I were so fortunate that the Trochecks have been going through this too. We spent a lot of time together in the last month and a half with our families,” Lee said. Added Trocheck: β€œBoth having kids around the same age, being able to play with each other and have friends at school the first day, that obviously goes a long way.”

This kid is super hero. I hope he never leaves Long Island.
Matthew Schaefer on being named an alternate captain at 19: β€œIt’s crazy to think.” He said the biggest thing is continuing to be himself while learning from the many veteran leaders around him. #Isles

Good for the Athletes that called for Power's leave.. and for him to say he's "still the right guy for the job," he doesn't even realize how much trust he just lost all at once. Let this be a lesson to all coaches to do their homework.

Now, what I can't get my mind around is there's a fan/team supporter that highly recommended a green beret (which is fine), they were introduced once, then recommended again, the coach Power's brought him in no questions asked about what was about to happen??

Of course team building is important, and I get having a military guy inspire the team, but how could you not have a heads up of what your athletes are about to go through from someone you don't even know. So dumb. Looking forward to more of this story.

Not knowing what the workout is is mind game for an athlete. Not a bad thing. However, if you are a coach watching your athletes go through this and YOU don't know what the workout is is a BIG fucking problem for you, your staff, the athletes and the organization involved.

Where my brain goes first on this is you need understand what your players are about to experience. Military workouts are no joke. They do not stop and if you've never been exposed to one, it needs to be scaled, because you're in for a treat.

The military training mindset is training for not only the unknown but the unknowable. GPP. General Physical Preparedness. Because when you're under attack or in an emergency you need to be ready to fucking go. In other words you will not know what the workout is.

This story is a story of negligence. I don't care what you coach, you don't just choose a random military fitness guy, or ANY trainer that you are unfamiliar with and have him handle your players. NO way.

Athleticism meets desperation. What a great effort.
HUSTLE IS A TALENT You don't have to tell others about your commitment or desire. Your actions will speak louder than your words. Great teams have great teammates.

Working on so much, but wanted to mention my past couple of episodes because I thought they were really fun to produce and present. "The Cold Case Files" was an idea I came up with a few weeks ago where I could reintroduce some of the most hotly contested stories that seemed to have just fallen off the map for one reason or another. There's so much that goes on with this topic seemingly everyday, so it is extremely easy to get caught up in the "next big thing" and forget about some of these other cases. That said, I decided to start with the Miami Mall case from 2024 in volume one, and then move to the Las Vegas backyard case in Volume two. Both episodes are out now! If you haven't heard them already, then I hope you like the fresh perspective and new angles that I introduce as part of the opening back up of these cases. Just search UAP on any streaming platform to find those and more. Enjoy!

A lot of people are asking - Is this a hurricane? No. This is a powerful nor’easter. The biggest difference is how they get their energy. Hurricanes are fueled primarily by warm tropical ocean water and have warm cores. Nor’easters are fueled primarily by strong temperature contrasts, fronts and upper-level dynamics. But β€œnot a hurricane” does NOT mean β€œnot dangerous.” A strong nor’easter can still produce tropical storm to hurricane-force wind gusts, damaging coastal storm surge, and significant flash flooding. Sandy had already transitioned into a post-tropical cyclone before making landfall in New Jersey, and we all know how destructive its impacts were. For this storm, coastal New Jersey, Long Island, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts are the areas I’m watching especially closely, with flooding concerns extending farther into New England. Know what the storm is, understand the hazards, and take it seriously, but don’t panic. Stay updated and weather aware.
