still unbelievable seeing over 35K people watch a documentary video i directed and produced at the Data + AI summit 2026. had such a great time collaborating with @elisehollowed, Tim, Jesse and the @databricks team last weekend to bring this together!

with all due respect, this is a crazy take not free = horrible??? we really need to slow down on the entitlement of expecting free stuff. you can't compare small startups to multi-billion dollar organisations oH bUt ThEy rAisEd 30M bro. 1) 30M is nothing. 2) as a small startup you gotta prove product-market fit or you die. you won't do that by giving everything away for free anthropic can afford 80B in losses alone and they're still in a good place if you want a product built by a small team who actually, genuinely cares about what they're building, reach for your wallet. it's that simple you're spending more on your matchas with almond milk anyway love cloudflare btw
damn @paper gives you like 10 minutes of MCP usage and then demands payment, what a horrible experience

when i shipped my current portfolio website, agents were nowhere near as capable as they are today. i designed everything from scratch in figma and went through quite a painful process of iterating with cursor to bring it to life. it wasn’t close to what i truly wanted, but i shipped it anyway cause i had to start putting myself out more. i haven’t updated it in a long time, but the compliments and messages i’ve received from recruiters, founders, and fellow designers since launching it have been nothing short of phenomenal. it’s a beautiful reminder of something i’ve always believed: as designers, there will always be things we want to explore, experiment with, or bring to life that we simply may not have the freedom to do within the companies we work for. but your portfolio? that’s your canvas. your little corner of the internet where you have complete creative freedom. it should feel like you, reflect your personality, your curiosity, your taste, and most importantly, tell your story in a way only you can. because if there’s anywhere you should be unapologetically yourself as a designer, it’s in the one space where nobody gets to tell you what you can or cannot create.

october marked my last month at @coderabbitai, and i couldn’t be more proud of the work i got to do alongside some truly incredible people. my time here taught me so much on ownership, designing and shipping data intensive product in an agentic era. i wrote about everything i got to ship with the team in the thread. now a new journey begins!

I didn’t cancel my Figma plan, but I did start paying for Paper too. Still have Adobe as well (?) Also pay for Claude and Codex and Cursor. A workshop needs tools.

been wanting to say this for a while now so here it is - i think whoever designed paper’s brand (we know who) basically took a color picker and clicked on Harcourt’s eyes and called it a day. 🤣

“designing much faster than the others” — this so daft and makes it clear they don’t understand design at all. “Designing fast” (or slow) is just not a thing. If you conflate “producing ui by piecing together stuff” and “design” then the former (which is a form of assembly-line practice) can surely be fast or slow. What makes the practice of design challenging is not how to put a ui or poster together, it’s what the pieces are, what the message is, what is being communicated, how it all works together. So many of today’s “design” AI tools focus almost exclusively on the production part, on putting stuff together. I’d love to see an AI design tool that forms a deep understanding of a problem over the course of days or months and works like a creative partner. Call me on my bullshit, thinks about the whole, isn’t concerned really about the final arrangement of elements as much as it would understand the story and the message.
Revolut's designers are moving off Figma. Storonsky spotted one team designing much faster than the others. What they did: 1. Gave an LLM Revolut's design system at the code level 2. Prompted it to build new flows on top of that system 3. Got a live interface they can click through on a laptop or phone, instead of static frames Result: 3-4x faster. Now he's pushing it to every designer at Revolut. His job, as he describes it: find what works in one team and spread it across the company. Full breakdown here: productmarketfit.tech/p/revo…

you already know what's on my mind. 😊
We brought Touch to the Mac! From the all-new iPad mini to the 14-inch MacBook Pro and iMac... and now MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display and Touch, creators have new tools to do their best work yet.

i wonder who wakes up as a designer and even say these things, but who am i to speak? am just a junior designer.
“I no longer use figma or adobe” can never be a flex to me. Where’s the craftsmanship? Where’s the passion? I understand the need to get things done faster but I feel like we’re gradually losing the human touch that makes design special. At some point, you have to ask yourself: why did you choose this career path as a brand/graphic designer in the first place? I’ve spent over $1k on AI credits this year alone. I actively use AI, experiment with new tools, and keep up with the latest trends in our industry. So this isn’t coming from someone who’s against AI. But I can tell you one thing: I still feel alive pushing those rectangles around, one pixel at a time whether in figma, adobe, or whatever creative tool gets me there. There’s a certain joy I feel in actually making things and obsessing over the little details, while putting a piece of myself into my work. Efficiency is great, but I never want to lose the feeling of being a designer.

Soleio is incredible. you don't have to be in the room with him for him to be nice.
A special shoutout to @soleio. Earlier this year, I saw his post offering to help people considering their next career move, so I reached out. We barely knew each other, but he asked me what my 2–3 dream companies were. Linear was at the top of that list. Without hesitation, he offered to make introductions and continued to be an incredibly thoughtful sounding board as I explored different opportunities. I was genuinely blown away by his generosity. I hope sharing this encourages others to reach out for help and to pay it forward when they're in a position to do so.
