The OCFP looks forward to working with government to expand this model of care so that all Ontarians can access a family doctor who is supported by a health team. There should be one door to a team of health care providers who know them, their family and their health history.

#MethodsMondays Many PROMs have been translated from English, but are they representative? The work tested the Chinese translations of the VR-12 & interviewed Chinese-speaking immigrants abt their experiences & needs for care: ow.ly/hWtM50KLT6B @BD_Zumbo @pamwoitschach

Yes, a big role for @PatientAdvisors everywhere is to help with communications. It is worth taking a little extra time to avoid confusion.

I’ve met a lot of people through tweet chats like this one. In Canada I would suggest joining the Patient Advisors Network @PatientAdvisors. We have active conversations and opportunities on our private group site. #patientchat

Repeat after me, digital solutions are never just technical. They are always socio-technical. “Epic might work in the United States ... but its design was so hard-coded in U.S. medical culture that it couldn’t be disentangled.” politi.co/2I1nRNe

Wow! Everyone needs it?
A study of ~7.8 million people shows 99% would have at least one actionable genome variant that interacts with a prescription drug. How many are getting screened? Zero (or close to that number) jamanetwork.com/journals/jam… @JAMANetworkOpen by @sony_tuteja and colleagues

It would be great if every medication worked 100% of the time, but they don't. The NNT (Number needed to treat) is a way to quantify how often the medication "works" (caveat: what a drug "working" means is a whole other tweetorial/PhD dissertation!) #SafeMedsBC
