"Given this appalling response from university administration, I have no choice but to declare a new policy directive and corresponding Common Council resolution, implementing an immediate moratorium on all student event and special event permits, including, but not limited to Greek life and other student group gatherings, until such time that the University conducts an accounting of its protocols to prevent and prosecute crimes of sexual violence and publicly releases new standards and practices to keep our community safe."

The Cornell University situation reminds me of when Columbia University didn't do anything to help Emma Sulkowicz when she was raped on campus. So she carried the mattress she was assaulted on as a form of protest. She carried it for months..
And then Columbia President Lee Bollinger turned his back on her when she went on stage to accept her diploma..

When I got sexually assaulted in college the only option Bard gave me was a restraining order type thing where I would have had to tell him my entire schedule so he could avoid me, thereby letting him know where I was at all times
