Happy to share the lab's latest preprint, a study led by @NDBios @NDscience @NotreDame PhD student @LisaHom1. Lisa discovered an unexpected role for secreted factors from senescent fibroblasts in causing #pyroptosis in mammary epithelial cells. Congrats to Lisa all the authors!

This is REALLY important. If you want education in the center of the country, you’ll need to send some research and training money there.
I wanted a better way to show physical location of K99s (more coastal) are versus where R00s are (more distributed), so I plotted the data onto maps. This is from 2007-2022.

"As we continue to drown in data, our limitation remains what it has always been: our lack of a fundamental understanding of the mechanisms and pathways that all these elegantly described genes and gene products constitute." Great editorial in @scisignal. science.org/doi/10.1126/scis…

Great perspective here from @hholdenthorp on introductory courses in the sciences. While we have plenty of room to improve, I'm proud to be part of efforts to counter "weed out" culture in #introbio here @NDBios @NDscience @NotreDame. More here: biology.nd.edu/undergraduate…

Congrats Cody and team, beautiful study. I had some non-published data showing that the MRC1+MS4A7+ subpopulation were rarely vessel associated in the embryonic mouse brain. We never lineage traced them, but they were definitely there and not necessarily PVMs at that stage.
