Why am I being advertised datemyage.com on twitter? Is 35, married, and recently had a baby the target demographic? I would have guessed that demo is more silenceretreate.org oriented.
The Supreme Court, in the last 48 hours, has reaffirmed our commitment to electoral rules and principles of fairness. Despite politics, they did their jobs. Feeling hopeful today.

US primary system creates chess like strategic dynamics, where any move you make now must be considered for future positioning.
Trump's desperation is forcing him to set up a very unfavorable general election board for Republicans.
It's really depressing to see neighbors avidly oppose safe biking infrastructure in Berkeley of all places. Save Hopkins is really "save parking". Ask any bike commuter or city planner, protected bike lanes make people safer. Live your espoused values please.

Been noticing a lot more swales in Berkeley / Albany lately and loving them. Interested in how much they can contribute to ground water recharge for urban areas and how necessary that even is (are there wells in urban areas?)
Does anyone know what the total water storage capacity of all degraded Sierra meadows is? same for carbon sink capacity?
Some great work on why meadows matter (water/carbon) and natural infra in CA, but hard to find estimates of the scale of the solution. youtu.be/Sy-gin77GSk
I'm increasingly convinced that voluntary carbon offset markets make sense if beneficiaries being served are low income and the use of proceeds of the offset is to subsidize the upfront cost of acquiring a good or service: biodigester, clean cookstove, EV, solar etc. Reactions?
Very annoying how media is talking about California's recent rain storms. Either a "crippling" drought or a "devastating" rain. The history of CA weather is dramatic swings. Yes they have gotten worse but expectation should be drought or deluge and we should plan accordingly.
It's so easy to believe that every economic headwind will quickly subside and every tail wind will never end. Good rule of thumb seems to be double your expectation for how long hard times will last and quarter your expectation for how long good times will last.
This will be an incredible quality of life asset for everyone in the Bay. Thank you to everyone that has advocated for this for decades. berkeleyside.org/2022/12/21/…

Kenyans, on average, spend 46% of their income on food. Lowering costs and increasing quality of food is essential to a health and economic mobility. This is true in so many emerging economies.
Awesome mission. Awesome team.
Social commerce startup Kapu, by ex-Jumia executive, comes out of stealth with $8M funding tcrn.ch/3OZLBlo by @annienjanja
SFDR and Article 9 guidance is complex and at this point still unclear on some requirements, BUT any fund claiming they thought they were an "impact" fund, i.e. targeting sustainable or social impact, while trading broad public equities is shameful.
Talked to a buddy in state government in the midwest this week. Very cool to hear that the level of ambition around the state's clean energy and workforce training policies have step changed due to IRA. We are going to feel the effect of that money for years to come.

Thank you @AndrewKuper for important reminder & call for action. I need to update my mental model & automatic reference to 7bn people on Earth …
So was all the polling pre midterms on how low of a priority protecting democracy was just wrong? Clean sweep of Governors and Secretary of States in very competitive states. Seems like protecting democracy and a women's right to choose are very popular positions with results.
