"What is the Republican Party?
From its fundraising operations to its governing philosophy, it has become an organization built around and for one man, hollowed out over the past decade and purged of anyone or any idea independent of the current president.
Any remaining attachment to free markets, limited government, the rule of law, a culture of life, or family values has been superseded by Trump’s own desires, impulses, enrichment, and peculiarities."

This ad didn't work because these ads never work. The national GOP surrender post-Dobbs is hurting them. A pro-choice-lite party that also cuts SNAP and Medicaid is a moral and political disaster.

Big repercussions for Trump's ability to fill judicial vacancies, including on the Supreme Court were a vacancy to occur.
BREAKING: Democrats win the Senate to take full control of Congress away from Republicans, with voters rebuking Trump’s policies, NBC News Projects. nbcnews.com/politics/2026-el…
NEW: White House official tells me their position is GOP losses aren’t Trump’s fault
“White House mood is defiant. President Trump was not on the ballot, and it's proven that Trump voters show up when he is on the ballot.
“Also, candidate quality matters and President Trump did a better job promoting many of the candidates than the candidates did themselves.

I'll go further: even strong predictions about 2028 election dynamics or 2029 governance are more absurd than usual, for all the usual reasons but also because we have less idea than maybe ever at what the political issues/divides are going to be two years out.
Or, you know, two years. When a third of the Senate is up for reelection, including Democrats in AZ, GA, NV, and PA (and potentially in OH).
Settle down.
It’s incredible how many folks somehow read this conclude I’m suggesting Christians must (or even should) vote for El-Sayed. Truly incredible.
If you’re a Christian voter in Michigan opposed to abortion, you’re One Thousand Percent justified in not voting for either candidate. Anyone telling you otherwise is a partisan grifter.
I have been clear about this issue time and time again and I will not allow Abdul to lie about my position.
This decision is one of the hardest decisions a woman will make in her entire life and it should be handled with her family and her doctor. Period.
The Michigan voters went to the ballot box and made a woman’s right to choose part our State Constitution and as Michigan’s next Senator I will never go to Washington and overturn the will of the Michigan people.
When Christians elevate prudential political judgements to the level of essential doctrine, we’re sacralizing our politics and distorting our faith.
We can disagree and seek to correct without excommunicating one another.
NEW: Pope Leo XIV on Sunday’s Villanova and Notre Dame basketball game:
“Growing up on the south side of Chicago, we oftentimes heard, ‘Go Irish!’ But, as you all know, Prevost graduated from Villanova. So the Pope doesn't take sides. Prevost has another opinion, but we won't do that now.”
