they do not get paid for any of this. be kind, patient, and respectful to the volunteers who work hard to keep ao3 running, fight against censorship, and protect writers, fanfics, and peopleβs rights/freedom to write whatever they want, however they want

the AI fic discourse will never end until people grow a spine and understand that Maybe being falsely accused of using AI is a small price to pay if you want to ever have the chance to write for a popular fandom without competing against literally thousands of generated fics

ao3 being infested by ai fics in every fandom, can you all move!!???? mind you writing fic is a hobby!! you dont have to do this, like you can just sit back and not do post ai fic, but you ai writers want to be praised and applauded for something you you didn't even create!!

the real answer to "why do people post ai fic?" is that they get away with it. often and repeatedly. fandom's so against calling them out that we've enabled them instead.
