Just blogged: $4.85 million Doc[.]com domain name lease comes to light via SEC filing

Yes, I'm still reviewing SEC filings, unlike the low-life parasitic copycat bloggers. An early Xmas present. 🎁
You have to love it when a domain broker reaches out to you and says their client would like to make an offer for your domain.
Then the offer arrives...
I am still getting these transfer emails from @GoDaddy, that don't mention the domain.
Now, I'm getting these emails from GoDaddy too.
This conditions customers to click links without thinking. Every legitimate "click here" email teaches people the exact habit scammers exploit.
You mean like this, from @GoDaddy?
This is a legitimate email. It never even mentions the domain.
A notice you can't verify without clicking is a notice that trains people to click first. That's the phishing playbook, sent from the registrar itself.
It's unacceptable.
Sold the domain Siddhartha.org for $6,900 via @Afternic.
Certain terms fit especially well in .org. In this case, religion.
It's a meaningful term in Buddhism, and great fit in .org.
I sold the domain AffiliateConsulting.com for $8,900 via @afternic.
I really like this type of two-word keyword brandable in .com.
It's not an exact match keyword, but the domain at least gives you an idea what the end user does.
I sold the domain Windwood.com for $36,000 via @afternic.
It was on a 12-month LTO. The final payment just cleared.

Just blogged: RED ALERT: ICANN’s Draft IGO Rules Would Transfer Your Domain Name Even While You’re Suing In Court

I found another deep flaw in their working group's output. Deadline to comment is Monday August 10, 2026 23:59 UTC.

Domain registrars and marketplaces are setting up users for fraud by taking information out of their emails
Lately, they are all sending call-to-action emails without telling you the domain or the action and forcing you to click to find out more.
Phishing people are drooling over this because it makes it ripe for phishing
This needs to change
NotRenewing.com is up to 482 total sales now.
That is around 150 sales in the last month, or about 5 per day on average.
I have purchased 30+ domains, and already received an offer for one domain that is above the price of all the domains I purchased.
@Not_Renewing
NotRenewing.com is up to 333 total sales now.
That is 180+ sales so far in June.
There were around 150 sales in the first 2 1/2 months.
It is still gaining traction. @Not_Renewing
I have bought several domains.
All transactions went smoothly.

Absolutely gutted to learn of the passing of my dear friend and brilliant advocate Paul Keating. We had some amazing times together. So many untold stories that only one of us is left to remember.

The domain community has lost a true pioneer, fierce advocate, and dear friend.
Paul Raynor Keating was a cornerstone of domain legal defense and a cherished voice within the ICA.

Catched.com has quite a confusing bidding process.
Other domain auction venues default to a proxy bid.
@Catched10 has both a "Bid" and "Proxy bid" option.
Bid = Places that bid amount instantly.
I think a lot of people are choosing the "bid" option by accident.
The "We're an AI company" playbook has an expiration date.
Eventually revenue and profits matter.
History repeats itself: dumb money gets washed away.
Some winners will emerge. Most will fail.
For some AI startups, their domain may end up being their most valuable asset.
I sold the domain WalkingSafaris.com for $6,000 via @afternic.
It's a niche term, but still a great term in that field.
