I have lived all my life in Bangalore. I am as Kannadiga as one can be. Complete Kannadiga roots on both sides of my parents family. And I am saying what I am saying next given my love for my State and the language. 1. Bangalore has not become what it has become due to any single Govt or Party. It has become this despite the Govts or with the help of all Govts!! 2. IT/ITES is not a function of our weather or the Cauvery water. This is not a sector dependent on natural resources like power or mining or ports. It is dependent on an ecosystem which has been built over the last 2 decades. It could have been built anywhere! 3. I have been working with IT/ITES companies for 2 decades now. Most of them admit the talent available in Bangalore is not comparable to anything anywhere in the country. 4. The ecosystem has been built and is thriving here because the sector placed importance on merit over anything else. They hired good people from everywhere and built the base here. 5. IT/ITES companies create 2-3 times the jobs of their head count. The number of cabs (drivers/owners), cafeterias, hospitality and the general increase in economic activity has created a lot of jobs. So... looking at locals bein employed only in IT companies is a myopic view. Own case: I have been able to build a good company with nearly 50 people now only due to what Bangalore has been in the last 20 years. If it was what it was in 90s... I would have had to go to Mumbai to do the kind of International tax work that I do here. So, as a local I may not have been employed by the IT Sector but I am employed and earning well due to the IT sector. The sector that got impacted the least due to Covid was IT. In fact it expanded. The point being ... It is not a sector like automobiles or heavy industry for a factory to be fixed to a location for decades. They can work from anywhere WFH proved it. Which means that it can be relocated with greater ease than manufacturing. We can lose the ecosystem quicker than it was built. I really hope we dont take an axe and cut the branch that we are sitting on. The people wanting IT sector to employ locals are not considering the indirect employment nor the impact of the sector on our State's Economy at large. Direct employment isnt everything. The Bangalore RE sector has so many large companies today due to the IT boom. Would we had a Ritz-Carlton and a Shangri-La and a Four Seasons opening here ahead of most other cities in India without the IT Sector feeding it? Would we have been the start up capital of the world in all new-age sectors without the IT boom of the early 2000s?? What about the people they employ? Helathcare. Retail. Entertainment. Multiple other sectors. We can go on discussing the second order impact. In the 1990s... we had zero connectivity to the world from our airport. Even in early 2000s... most international travel was through Mumbai or Chennai. Remember? Today we have one of the busiest airport in the country with most important countries being a direct flight away!! What about the employment created due to this??? I hope better sense prevails. I too want my State to be the best. I too want Kannadigas to be thriving and doing well. But this method being employed now is not the way to go about it. Whatever hs to be done has to be done by an elected Govt alone. @DKShivakumar @PriyankKharge @MBPatil

The most normalized open extortion in Indian middle class life: The Sub Registrar office on property registration day. You spend 10 years saving every rupee from your salaried job. You pay 30% TDS on your income. You pay 7% official stamp duty online via net banking. You pay 1% registration fee through a government treasury challan. Every single paisa is accounted for on your bank statement. Then you reach the government registration office with your builder or seller: The deed writer pulls you aside into a dusty corridor: "Sir, ₹25,000 to ₹40,000 cash alag se lagega for the desk. Official receipt nahi milegi." You: "Bhaiya, I already paid ₹4.5 lakhs in official government stamp duty online!" Agent smiles with complete indifference: "Sir, mat do. Phir file 'Property Under Valuation' mark hoke audit me chali jayegi. 6 mahine chakkar kaatna." You stand in an airless hallway, walk to the nearest ATM, withdraw ₹30,000 cash, and slip it inside the file folder just to get your own thumb impression scanned. We aren't a digital, cashless economy. We are a country where honest taxpayers have to withdraw physical cash just to get legal permission to own what they already paid for. Did your property registration happen 100% clean, or did you have to pay the "corridor settlement fee" too?

Three years ago, PM Modi inaugurated the 3,200-crore Surat Diamond Bourse, calling it “the best diamond in the world” and an example of “Modi’s guarantee” for Surat. Today, the “world’s biggest office space in a single project” is a largely empty shell. indianexpress.com/article/ex…

Usually never post about films, music etc, but this new song from #Ramayana is just blissful. Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal, along with those visuals are creating a truly pure, divine atmosphere. youtu.be/z_e1d5_VVfw?si=wzMl…

SHEER AUDACITY! PM Modi: “JO MILA VO HAZAM,AISA NAHI CHALTA HAI” Hon’ble PM @narendramodi This is not how a democracy talks to its taxpayers. This framing clearly treats taxpayers like subjects under British or Mughal rule — “grateful” for scraps. Meanwhile, Indirect Tax like GST is still biting hard on almost everything to every family.

Deplorable and despicable condition of the Chikkanayakana Halli Road. @DKShivakumar @krishnabgowda Ji, law-abiding, tax-paying residents expect better governance, at least from you, instead of the discriminatory behaviour being shown by deliberately not developing this road. Local politicians keep doing pujas and announcements but no work on the ground. Tagging @CMofKarnataka @osd_cmkarnataka @GBA_office, at least someone can look into this.

Just travelled through Doddamara Road today after several weeks, and the condition is actually worse than this. This is nothing but utter shamelessness from politicians now. While @INCIndia and @RahulGandhi are busy protesting, unfortunately the condition of their own governed state is abysmal, to say the least. How can this be allowed to continue? @INCKarnataka @CMofKarnataka @osd_cmkarnataka @b_shivanna177 Roads and Drains are the bare minimum you can possibly provide. This needs urgent attention of authorities. @Virendra0698 could you possibly help in this? Have seen you very actively helping citizens in Namma’luru.
Dear @b_shivanna177 avarey, Forget politics for a moment. Think like a parent: IF YOUR CHILD had to travel daily through these dusty, broken roads, would you accept this? Being a Master degree holder in Zoology, and the Chairman of KSPCB, the responsibility is even greater. You speak of tackling air pollution, but what about the dust pollution choking your own #Anekal constituency? Residents have met you personally. We have repeatedly raised the pathetic road conditions in Doddamara, Rayasandra & Ghattahalli on X. Yet, there is still NO RESPONSE from you, your office, or even from your higher command @DKShivakumar @CMofKarnataka You openly told us, “You voted for BJP.” Is that why our concerns are being ignored? Atleast @BJP4Karnataka @BYVijayendra should help. YOU ALSO IGNORING THE RESIDENTS HERE #Anekal #Roads #DustPollution #KSPCB #Bengaluru #Doddamara #Rayasandra #Ghattahalli @ChristinMP_ @CivicOp_india @CitizenPulseX @bengalurupost1 @gopinathkarangu @vikasbanglore @YashasKA09 @BengaluruAgenda @WFRising @noorainee @kiranshaw @TVMohandasPai @publictvnews @tv9kannada @AsianetNewsSN @PTI_News @ANI @anil_lulla @TOIBengaluru @Hamsaa04 @reethu_journo @dpkBopanna @ndtv @naveenmzs @srm2k15 @SarjapuraRaste @citizenmatters

Elon Musk accused India's satellite regulators of running an "oligarchy." The government just responded — and pointed to who's actually in the same regulatory queue as @Starlink #Starlink #India thetechportal.com/2026/10/08…

This statement from @elonmusk couldn’t have come at a worst time.
Musk accuses unnamed Indian "oligarchs" of blocking Starlink to protect a monopoly. Five years, two telecom deals, 20 gateway sites later — still no launch. One clearance remains pending. #Starlink #India @elonmusk @Starlink thetechportal.com/2026/10/08…

Rural India isn’t getting schools, health infra etc. Urban India isn’t getting roads, drains, basic public infra. Where exactly is our tax going? Funding and maintaining massive bungalows for politicians and their large families, and funding their foreign trips.

SAVITA, THE WALL! Irrespective of how it goes against China today, India’s women hockey team is a far far better unit compared to men’s team. So composed, technically sound and calm on the field. Loved their World Cup performance and loving them these Asian Games. @TheHockeyIndia #AsianGames26

WHAT A SHOW BY INDIAN BOXERS. Take a Bow! That is absolute dominance, really bright chances for #LA28. They have defeated some of the best in the business to get these GOLDs 🥇🥇🥇

With these #AsianGames, one thing is pretty darn clear, as has been clear in other multilateral events. Indian athletes need hard core mental strength training. The Chinese are stone cold when playing, irrespective of the result, the medal at stake or anything else. Desperately need that.

It is utterly confusing as to what stops @b_shivanna177 and @MALimbavali to provide basic necessities such as Sewage and Roads? Like what exactly is the reason behind this? The area also has high number of Karnataka voters, so there is incentive too. Why can’t they just do it? @DKShivakumar @krishnabgowda @BJP4Karnataka @INCKarnataka
Dear @b_shivanna177 avare, Hope you have read today's Times of India? ANOTHER REPORT. SAME SHAME. SAME SILENCE. Your #Anekal constituency is once again in the news, this time for the shocking state of Doddamara Road in Rayasandra. Nearly a decade of suffering. 30+ representations. Countless complaints. Zero assurances. And still craters, waterlogging and a road unfit for citizens. Even more telling: when Times of India @TOIBengaluru sought your response, there was no response. Doddamara. Rayasandra. Ghattahalli. These are not forgotten villages. Thousands of residents, schoolchildren, employees and daily commuters depend on these roads every single day. How many more reports do citizens have to generate before you generate some action? And where is the accountability from the higher leadership, @DKShivakumar? Seriously, very honest question is why your high command never insist or command you to do your work to your people living in your own #anekal constituency. Shivanna avare, come to Doddamara. Walk the road. Face the citizens. See the reality yourself. We don't need another promise. Thank you @Hamsaa04 for this wonderful ground report. WE NEED A NEW ROAD NOW. @kiranshaw @TVMohandasPai @ChristinMP_ @CitizenPulseX @bengalurupost1 @anil_lulla @publictvnews @tv9kannada @AsianetNewsSN @gopinathkarangu @vikasbanglore @srikanthn1975 @reethu_journo @chandanadn2003 @CivicOp_india @Dr_Yathindra_S @ShantipuraP @RLR_BTM @Vidyashilp_ #Anekal #Doddamara #Rayasandra #Ghattahalli #FixOurRoads #BetterRoads #BengaluruRoads
