This seems like a great time to reshare my favourite Sir Patrick Stewart performance, ‘What has the ECHR ever done for us?’ It’s just perfect in every possible way … including the ending 😂😂😂 RIP.

Guess who's back? It's bad air // India’s AQI wrapped 2015-2025.
#badairdays #hawahawa #airpollution

ALT Circular heatmaps show daily Air Quality Index (AQI) across 20 major Indian cities from 2015 to 2025. Each chart represents a city, with months arranged around the circle and concentric rings showing individual years. Colours range from blue for good air quality to red, and deep dark red for poor to severe AQI. Northern cities show prolonged periods of poor air quality, especially in winter, while southern cities such as Chennai and Bengaluru show better air quality. "They fixed a part of my brain that was causing a lot of tremor," Michael J. Fox explained. "And it was really kind of cool".
"Cool? To have your brain fixed?" David Letterman asked, stunned.
"Well, because I was awake," Fox smiled.
"They drill the top of your head. Now Michael, they don't drill..." Letterman said, visibly uncomfortable.
"Well, actually, I think with a nail gun," Michael J. Fox replied with a smile.
Sitting on national television, the Hollywood icon was casually describing one of the most terrifying medical procedures a human can endure.
To treat his severe Parkinson's, doctors performed brain surgery while he was entirely awake.
"They strap this cage on your head and they bolt it in," Fox explained. "And they put a probe right into the middle of your brain".
"You're actually conscious for this?" Letterman asked, completely stunned.
"Yeah, you're awake," Fox nodded.
As surgeons poked around inside his open head to find the right cells, they accidentally triggered random emotional and physical reactions.
"You'll be sitting there and all of a sudden you go, 'Oh man, that's not fair!'" Fox laughed. "They're doing stuff to your brain. Then all of a sudden you go, 'Okay, that's funny. Wacky neurosurgeons'".
Society is terrified of suffering. We are conditioned to believe that a devastating medical diagnosis marks the absolute end of joy, and that tragedy must be handled with constant misery.
Michael J. Fox proved a beautiful, jarring truth.
True strength isn't avoiding the nightmare. It’s having a hole drilled into your conscious brain, looking the nightmare right in the eye, and having the courage to laugh at it.
In January 1992, computer science professor Andrew Tanenbaum started a famous Usenet argument with 22-year-old Linus Torvalds.
His post was titled "LINUX is obsolete."
Tanenbaum argued that Linux's monolithic kernel was a fundamental design mistake.
He even told Torvalds:
"Be thankful you are not my student. You would not get a high grade for such a design."
34 years later, every single machine on the TOP500 supercomputer list runs Linux.
Not bad for an obsolete student project.

Needed vector logos for banks @smallcaseHQ and it was way harder than it sounds like.
Built github.com/praveenpuglia/ind… before AI was cool.
You can find all the full logos and symbols for a ton of banks operating in India.
A ton of these needed hand tuning and made me learn how to operate @inkscape

Sally Field says Robin Williams shut down filming on Mrs. Doubtfire for the day when he found out her father had just died
"I got a call from the doctor that my father had had another massive stroke."
"But please lean down and tell him that Sally says goodbye."
"I was doing the scene about the kids being taken away from the father. It was what happened to my father."
"And Robin turned around and said, that's it for the day, guys. We're just wrapped here. We're done for the day."
She went straight from that phone call to a scene about a family getting split up, and she was a child of divorce herself. Nobody on that set knew. Robin just noticed something was off and asked her. Then he did the one thing the guy at the top of the call sheet can always do. He ended the day and walked her out himself. More than thirty years later she still tells it like it happened last week.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Walter Koenig’s passing.
Although we did not know each other well away from the set, we shared the later seasons of the original Star Trek series and the six films that followed.
What I observed, and what so many fans have expressed over the years, was a man who genuinely loved the Star Trek community.
At conventions, Walter was rarely content to remain behind a signing table. He preferred to be among the people who had kept Star Trek alive for so many decades.
That kind of genuine connection is rare, and it will be remembered by everyone who came into contact with him.
My condolences to his family, his friends, and the countless fans whose lives he touched.
