We condemn these racist and ableist opinions that were made to advance his political agenda. The cause of the plane crash is unknown, and there is no evidence that DEI or disabled employees are responsible."
ALT We need leadership that is committed to supporting grieving families and a thorough investigative process, not statements made to promote a bigoted agenda and scapegoat marginalized people. Our thoughts are with the families and communities impacted by this terrible tragedy.
ALT Despite Donald Trump’s claims on live TV, disabled people did not cause the plane crash at DCA. What a dangerous, repugnant, morally reprehensible thing to say to a nation of people who are shocked and scared and especially to the grieving families of people who just died in a horrific and unimaginable way. DEI did not cause a plane crash. This is infuriatingly ableist and racist garbage. In our greatest moment of need, we are once again abandoned by the very people meant to lead.

ALT Key points you should know: Officials from the new Trump administration have instructed federal health agencies to “pause” all public communications, including scientific reports and updates to public websites. The pause has stalled many important CDC communications, including updates to some COVID-19 and other infectious disease data pages and new reports in the agency’s MMWR journal. However, some CDC COVID-19 data have been updated this week, including the agency’s wastewater surveillance dashboard, hospitalizations, and emergency department visits.
ALT Key points you should know: There are exceptions to the pause for announcements that federal officials “believe are mission critical,” a CDC spokesperson said in a statement to The Sick Times. It is unclear how officials make this determination. While some data remain available, outside health experts and journalists have expressed concern that frontline clinicians may be without key updates during a period of high infectious disease spread and increased bird flu risk.
