Even before meeting him on the first Obama campaign, I've admired Joe Biden. What he has endured to continue to serve not only this country, but also our highest ideals, is staggering. Yesterday’s decision is just the latest in a half century of putting the American people above any personal ambition. It is such an exceedingly rare quality in a leader.
The opportunity to work for him in this capacity has been a thrill and an honor. He remains a man of integrity, humanity, sound judgement, and strength. Putting the country first and leading with humility will be his enduring legacy — in addition to the incredible accomplishments left in his wake.
I could not be more proud of what we’ve built in this campaign, including the 1,300 staff in battlegrounds and the nearly 300 offices, the tens of thousand of events, and the millions of voter contacts this summer.
And while yesterday was sad and bittersweet, I’m also FIRED UP to make sure that this first class political team will Finish The Job with our incredible Vice President, Kamala Harris. She has been on fire on the trail all year and she is ready.
LFG!
If you are knocking on wood anyway, might as well be a door in a battleground district!

Thrilled to have Gov. @AndyBeshearKY join Sarah and I on the campaign trail in Waukesha. We've got two days left and we’re not slowing down! Let’s go win.

I spoke with Haley Stevens yesterday.
Feeling a bit absurd in pointing out the obvious and being far kinder than I should have been, I reminded her that the outcome of this senate race will be viewed in the light of a future Supreme Court vacancy, and I expressed a hope that all of us understand the stakes.
She assured me she's supporting Dr. El-Sayed, sent me a video of a recent speech she gave blasting Mike Rogers and said this: "Still stands. I promise."
She also said she's been sending this video to other folks to make it clear where she stands on this race.
Again: that was yesterday.
I have known Haley Stevens for years. I have counted her as a friend and an ally. We've had many thoughtful conversations about this country, and she has never failed to remind me that her mother is a fan of my writing.
Whatever other political differences we have, she has always made it clear to me she would stand with LGBTQ people. It was a red line she refused to cross.
Instead, she has made the inexplicable decision to endorse a man who views LGBTQ Americans as second-class citizens unworthy of full equality.
I can't help but wonder what her mother must be thinking right now.
I have no idea what has happened to the person I thought I knew, but clearly, she has completely taken leave of her senses in endorsing a Republican who is little more than a Trump sycophant -- less than 24 hours after promising me that she has not wavered from the bigger picture.
I am disgusted with her cynicism and cowardice in this moment. God forgive me for trusting her.
If you're a Michigan voter and as disgusted as I am, get to your polling place and vote for Dr. El-Sayed.

In Waukesha, DGA Chair @AndyBeshearKY rallied with @DavidCCrowley and gave him a custom Louisville Slugger to celebrate the Brewers World Series win.
Crowley helped keep the Brewers in Milwaukee as county executive.

Mike Rogers will be ANOTHER vote for Trump’s policies in the Senate – the same policies that have devastated Michigan’s economy and emptied our pocket books. We need a tax code that works for working people.
We can’t afford to let MAGA Mike win this November.
Never feels good to be so throughly disappointed in people you supported. Woof.
Anyway, vote @AbdulElSayed Michigan!! Enthusistically!
(And everyone with thoughts on what his candidacy or margin might mean for your factional cause should go knock doors instead of pre-registering takes. They will keep.)

Huge respect to @AbdulElSayed for this calm, measured answer. He didn't take the bait at all and stayed focused on the core message. Not easy in a heated situation like this, that is for sure...
Q: Do you believe Haley Stevens is hurting the ticket?
El-Sayed: I have much respect to the congresswoman. We had a hard fought primary. That primary ended in August. I'm focused now on beating Mike Rogers. I hope that every Democrat, frankly, I hope that everybody who's worried about the state of our democracy, worried about the ability to afford gas and groceries, worried about ending illegal wars or ending tariff wars is with me in that fight.

Jason is vaporizing Haley’s future so that he can be a main character in this moment and it is sad to watch her participate in that. He was an extraordinarily toxic presence, was verbally abusive to staff and had some of the worst political instincts I’ve ever witnessed.
Rep. Haley Stevens' fiancé, Jason Turkish, says Jewish Democrats are deeply troubled by the growing dispute between Stevens and Michigan Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed.
Speaking on @foxandfriends, Turkish says longtime Democratic families are struggling with how to respond as El-Sayed faces criticism over his views on Israel and his handling of an ad Stevens has condemned as antisemitic.
The confrontation comes after El-Sayed's campaign tells Stevens to stay away from his events, throwing a planned Sunday appearance with Rep. Jim Clyburn into uncertainty.

I recommend my friend @HaleyforMI call @AbdulElSayed directly tonight.
I think the two of them should align on the reality that this Rebellion ad has put them both in a very awkward position, and the only way out is for the two of them to work together.
Don’t let the dividers win.

Massive sign of weakness here. There is a good chance Republicans lose a two senate races and two gov races across Iowa and Kansas. Trump likely does not want to be associated with the races if that happens, despite him being a massive drag on Republicans.

Congratulations to Reeves County, TX the first county in the country to exceed its 2022 *total* turnout. Reeves County is 85.7% Hispanic according to the Census Bureau and his home of Pecos 🥳🎉

The initial projection uses 2022 as a baseline plus a D shift. The Callais decision may be moving Black voters to the polls, increasing Black turnout for the first time since Obama.
In NC, Black Dems on track to be up 0.7 points vs. 2022, and white Republicans down 3.3 points.

Text sent about Eric Hafner to Alaska voters tonight!
(Also illegal - with no identification of sending organization or paid for by disclaimer)
Missed the @nytimes scoop on Eric Hafner (gigantic eyeroll) who’s currently enjoying his second stint as a Republican plant in Alaska running as a Dem to syphon votes in the House race. Last time against Mary, this time against Bill Hill.
Hell, the Times staff wouldn’t have even need to go very far to interview him, since Hafner is sitting in a federal prison in New York!
Trump: "It has just been determined that the Democrats in Alaska illegally searched for, and recruited, a man named Dan Sullivan to run against our distinguished Republican Senator, Dan Sullivan, in order to defraud, confuse, and obfuscate the Election, thereby taking votes away from the REAL Senator, Dan Sullivan. The New York Times reports that, 'Democrats have insisted they have nothing to do with the other Dan Sullivan on Alaska’s Senate ballot. But aides with the Mary Peltola campaign and DSCC were part of a monthslong secret plan to recruit him to run — as well as other candidates.' The Democrats’ false statements were made under oath in Federal Court. Therefore, they perjured themselves, and should be liable for very serious consequences. Mary Peltola should suffer the Legal and Political consequences for what she has done, A FRAUD ON THE AMERICAN PUBLIC, and Dan Sullivan should be allowed to run without either Mary Peltola or FAKE Dan Sullivan on the Ballot. President DONALD J. TRUMP"
