Worth watching: "It is not a genocide; it is a counterattack in a war."
This should be pushed far and wide. Watched in every college class in the U.S. Thank you @billmaher The moral confusion is gross. "It is not a genocide, it is a counterattack in a war...Gaza equals genocide is a lie, an easily provable lie (as I have argued from first hand observations in Gaza). The fact that so many democrats go along with it is to me the party's worse moment since they undid reconstruction after the civil war...words have meaning...genocide, kill or try to kill an entire people, you can't just change the definition of genocide to mean counterattack in a war where people including civilians die, that's every war..."

These NYC apartments are standing empty, not because the owners don't want to rent them, but because rent stabilization laws prohibit them from charging enough to earn back the costs of necessary repairs. My latest for @WSJFreeEx

Most people are certain they know what they would do. They have never had to find out. The first life I took almost broke me. I was young. There was no speech and there was no alternative. A man was about to hit our unit, and if I had hesitated the people standing next to me would not have come home. The ones after that did not feel the same. That is the part civilians do not want to hear. It got easier. Not because a human life became cheap, but because the lesson arrived all at once. There are people in this world whose purpose is to take lives without distinction, and inaction in front of them is not innocence. It is how the innocent die. We are raised not to kill another human being. To value every life. A range is not the same. A deer is not the same. Standing in front of a person who wants you and your people dead is a different education, and life doesn’t ask whether you enrolled. There is no disgrace in stopping that person. There is no apology owed for it. I do not regret a single one of them. I did what had to be done to people who wanted me dead and wanted my people erased. The war is not in Western cities today. That will not hold. When it arrives, a lot of confident talk will collapse in a single minute. It is easy to criticize the people fighting to protect lives when you are sitting in a comfortable lounge, or in a high-rise office, or behind a microphone at a desk, talking into a camera for an audience you are desperate to monetize, or on a stage performing for people who have no basic understanding of the history, the situation, war, or life. It is easy to shout slogans you do not even understand, or to recite TikToks written by people paid to sell you a story with no basis in reality. But the simple truth is this. Some people will do what survival requires. Some will not. I already know which side of that line I am on. I will never run or hide.

Twenty five years ago today, a 62 year old man with cancer in his bones walked 2,687 people out of the South Tower, and then he went back inside. Rick Rescorla was born in Hayle, Cornwall in 1939. British Parachute Regiment in Cyprus at 18. Colonial police in Northern Rhodesia. Then he came to America, enlisted in the US Army in 1963, and in November 1965 he went into the Ia Drang Valley as a platoon leader with the 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry. Hal Moore called him the best platoon leader he ever saw. His men called him Hard Core. He sang to them in the dark, Wild Colonial Boy in an Australian accent, because he had worked out that men who are singing are not men who are panicking. That is Rescorla on the cover of We Were Soldiers Once and Young, bayonet fixed. Thirty five years later he was head of security for Dean Witter, later Morgan Stanley, in the South Tower of the World Trade Center. In 1990 he brought in his old friend Dan Hill and the two of them walked the basement. He warned the Port Authority that the parking garage was wide open, that somebody could drive in a truck full of explosives, walk out and light it off. Nothing was done. Three years later the 1993 bomb went off about thirty feet from the spot he had flagged. After that he told Morgan Stanley the towers were still a target and the next attack would come out of the sky. He wanted the firm to leave Manhattan. The lease ran to 2006, so they stayed. Twenty two floors of the South Tower, roughly 2,700 people. So he drilled them. Every three months, everyone, no exceptions, down the stairwells two abreast while he stood there with a stopwatch. Traders pulling seven figures resented being marched down concrete stairs by a Cornishman with a clipboard. He kept doing it anyway. 8:46 a.m. The North Tower is hit. Port Authority comes over the South Tower loudspeakers and tells everyone the building is secure and to go back to their desks. Rescorla picks up a bullhorn and tells his people to get out. He phones Dan Hill. "The dumb sons of bitches told me not to evacuate. They said it's just Building One. I told them I'm getting my people out of here." 9:03 a.m. The second plane hits the South Tower, floors 77 through 85. His people are already in the stairwells, moving exactly the way they had been drilled, and Rescorla is on the bullhorn singing to them. Cornish songs. A version of Men of Harlech he had rewritten for Cornwall. Men of Cornwall stop your dreaming, can't you see their spearpoints gleaming. He called his wife Susan from the stairs. They had been married two and a half years, met jogging in New Jersey. He told her to stop crying, that he had to get these people out safely, and that if something happened to him he wanted her to know he had never been happier, that she made his life. Someone told him to get out. He said, as soon as I make sure everyone else is out. 2,687 Morgan Stanley employees went home that day. Thirteen did not, and four of those were Rescorla and the men who stayed in the building with him: Wesley Mercer, Jorge Velazquez, Godwin Forde. He was last seen on the 10th floor, walking up. The South Tower fell at 9:59. They never found him.

She never called her family to say goodbye. Instead, Sara Low used her final 30 minutes to make sure the FBI knew who attacked America. Trapped at 30,000 feet with no weapon, 28-year-old flight attendant Sara Low held the only tool that could expose the 9/11 hijackers to the world: 14 numbers memorized in her head. When terrorists stormed the cockpit of American Airlines Flight 11, chaos erupted in the cabin. Flight attendant Amy Sweeney scrambled to grab an onboard airphone to alert the ground team, but hit a devastating wall - she didn't have a calling card to bypass the system lock. Without her wallet on hand, Sara stepped forward. She didn't have plastic, but she had clarity. She had memorized her family’s AT&T calling card digits. Sara handed those numbers to Amy, unlocking a lifeline to the ground. For the next 20 minutes, Amy stayed on the line with American Airlines flight services in Boston. Because of Sara's calling card, the FBI received its very first concrete intelligence of the day: exact seat numbers of the hijackers, physical descriptions, and their movements in the cabin. While Amy relayed the critical data, Sara spent her final half-hour moving terrified passengers toward the rear of the plane, shielding them from danger. Sara had the means to use that airphone. She could have called her parents. She could have said a final goodbye to her sister. She didn't. She chose to make sure the world would know the truth instead. True heroism isn't defined by muscle or weapons. It’s defined by presence of mind in the face of impossible terror - and the selfless decision of who that mind chooses to serve. #archaeohistories

No mention of terrorism. We just..."bore witness to unimaginable suffering". Like it was a natural disaster. Did a hurricane hit NYC on 9/11? What exactly happened on that day, Commie Mamdani? What's with these "some people did something" foreign muslim politicians always downplaying 9/11? At least Ilhan Omar acknowledged that people did it. Zohran can't even do that. He is just a very nasty, spiteful animal. You saw it in that clip where he was yelling over the police like a rabid chihuahua. You see it in his dark, dead eyes when he drops his Manchurian smile. This is the darkest anniversary of our nation's defining tragedy because we all have to suffer the indignity of watching this piece of shit try to erase our history bit by bit. He doesn't hate the muslim terrorists like we do. It pains him to even address 9/11. You can tell. He doesn't care. He, like Hasan Piker, thinks we deserved it. Fuck off.
Today, I attended a memorial mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, led by Archbishop Ronald A. Hicks, in honor of those who died on 9/11. 25 years ago, we bore witness to unimaginable suffering. But New Yorkers met that moment with a spirit of love, sacrifice, and solidarity that guided us forward. As we remember those we lost, let us continue to take refuge in one another. Let us recommit to the work of building a better city — one that is worthy of the legacy they left.

Having seen the infamous 47-minute compilation of the 7 Oct atrocities with my own eyes (not publicly available), I can attest that the Silenced No More report, which is freely available online, is even worse. It's just words on a page, but it leaves enough to the imagination to be even more horrific than the video. At least for me. In the 47-minute compilation, there is some evidence of sexual sadism, but not much. Probably for two reasons: proud though Hamas was of massacring Jews, they were less keen on broadcasting scenes of sexual depravity. And the Israeli government likely declined to include the most horrific footage out of respect for the victims. The report is exhaustively documented, horror story after horror story. I've read it only once, and I won't do so again. Especially the sections about the Nova festival are extremely disturbing. So I asked Claude to summarize the documented patterns in the report: - Rape and gang rape, with victims passed between attackers in sequence, witnesses describing laughter throughout - Targeted gunshots to groin, abdomen, buttocks and face; genital mutilation of both women and men - Rape followed by execution—victims shot or stabbed immediately afterward, some shot in the head during the assault - Rape continuing after victims were dead - Sexual mutilation—breasts severed, genitals cut off or shot - Burning, including deliberate burning of the groin; bodies set alight with accelerants - - Hands bound behind backs; bodies tied to trees and poles along the road - Sharp objects inserted into victims' genitals - Women raped in view of their desperate partners, who were then killed - Male victims gang-raped, beaten, and threatened with castration - Dismemberment and decapitation These findings of systematic sexual violence and torture are corroborated by the UN Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict (2024) and the UN Commission of Inquiry (2024). Just one quote from a survivor: "I heard one rape where they were passing her around. She was probably injured, judging by her screams—screams you have never heard anywhere. It's between silence and screams, between pain and wanting to die. These are screams... it's something I have never heard in my life, and I have no way to explain to you what it sounds like. But it's screams. It's screams. It was simply horrific. And after one finished, he told another to go up 'Ta'al' [in Arabic], like to the next one. And apparently there was a round... And after they finished, they shot her." She continued: "You hear the screams, and then you hear silence. You hear a bang—and silence. And then there's a kind of calm. And then you say: okay, it's over at least. She's done with it. And like that with each person they abused—you heard. The moment they were killed, I said, 'Oh my God, finally, it's over.'" You privileged Westerners have no idea how you would react if this happened to you and your loved ones—if a group committed these atrocities, vowed to repeat them again and again, and openly declared that it would not stop until your country no longer existed. You have no idea. civilc.org/silenced-no-more
A while ago, I watched the infamous 47-minute video documenting the atrocities of October 7th — the one not made publicly available, to protect the privacy of the victims. The worst part of this video is not what it displays, but who is displaying it: the perpetrators themselves. Gleefully. Sadistically. Unabashedly. Most of the footage was filmed by Hamas terrorists on their GoPro bodycams, some also by ordinary Gazan civilians on their cellphones. Even the Nazis tried to cover up their atrocities, but Hamas brags about theirs for the entire world to see. The killers are euphoric throughout the massacre, and their relentless, ecstatic cries of "Allahu Akbar" (punctuated by the occasional "Kill the Jew!") are simply nauseating. Some images are seared into my memory forever. I will never forget the two boys in their underwear — one with his eye socket hanging out of his face — asking his brother whether he thinks they're going to die, while the Hamas monster who had just thrown a grenade in their saferoom helps himself to a drink from their fridge, taking a casual break from the slaughter. Neither will I ever forget the terrorists playing football with a severed head. Or the Thai migrant worker whose head is viciously hacked off with a garden hoe — another "Zionist colonizer" getting what he deserved, right?quillette.substack.com/p/wha… Or the throngs of Gazans crowding around pickup trucks loaded with the mutilated corpses of Jewish women, filming and spitting on the bodies. Or the woman in Kibbutz Mefalsim, crouching and begging in vain for mercy. There is some evidence of sexual violence in the video — the charred corpse of a young woman with her legs splayed and her genitals exposed — but not much. Apparently even Hamas draws a line somewhere: they are not as proud of raping Jewish women as they are of murdering them. Or, more likely, they simply didn't want to embarrass the delicate sensibilities of their legions of useful idiots in the West. But yes — there was rape. Not "rape" in scare quotes, as the apologists would have it, but sadistic, murderous sexual violence, documented in a new damning new report by The Civil Commission, an independent Israeli women's rights NGO. (video summary here: youtube.com/watch?v=K7fJuzr4…) Across its 180 pages, the report describes "a recurring pattern of rape and gang rape; sexual torture; mutilation; targeted shooting to the face, head and genital area; forced nudity; binding and restraint; genital burning; objects inserted into intimate areas; post-mortem sexual humiliation; and execution during or after sexual assault." And it was premeditated and organized. The terrorists crossing into Israel carried printed Arabic-to-Hebrew phrasebooks with handy expressions like "take off your pants," "lie down," "spread your legs," and "don't make trouble." I wonder why they expected to need those particular phrases? I know one thing: no civilized country on earth would tolerate the existence of an organization like Hamas on its border after October 7th. Not one. This includes every self-righteous Westerner currently lecturing Israel from thousands of kilometres away, without an inch of skin in the game. dailymail.com/news/article-1…

People often ask why I bother pushing back against the anti-Israel propaganda... I have no ties to Israel in any way. I don't even think I know any Jewish people outside of the online platforms I am active on. I would like to visit some day because of the historical significance of the Levant and because I enjoy visiting foreign places with rich history that genuinely like and get along with Americans. I am not interested in Israeli politics. I am not concerned with the ongoings of their country beyond how they are a strategic ally to my country. I'm a Christian from Texas, after all. My kids will grow up in the United States, not Israel. So, again, people may wonder why I would subject myself to the hate and push back from so many that would vilify Israel, and my answer is simple. I do so because I care about the truth. I also do so because I was trained to see beyond the narratives, beyond the face of propaganda and psyops, and all of the way to the truth of how messaging can be manipulated, amplified, and repeated until it becomes accepted as truth. I watched the information environment change after October 7, 2023. I watched the shift happen in real time as our enemies used a horrific attack that they knew would generate a massive, destruction filled response to try and convince people that the initial terrorist aggressors were right and that Israel, acting in defense of their nation... in defense of those thousand plus innocent people that were murdered in their homes, in the streets, and at a concert... was wrong. Imagine if that had happened to Americans. How would we have reacted? How much destruction would we have wrought in retribution to such an act? I think we all know the answer... So, I watched as people picked up propaganda that has been debunked for over a hundred years and share it as if it confirmed their every belief. I watched as our enemies realized that the key to finally defeating the American right was simply to convince them of the oldest and dumbest propaganda the world has ever seen. It was propaganda made for illiterate peasants, but it worked like a charm because most Americans know absolutely nothing about history and even less about geopolitics or the realities of our strategic alliances. All it took was getting a few big names to push it. All they needed was to grind it into the old grievances that already existed on the right due to mistrust in our institutions and the war fatigue GWOT created for so, so many. From a propaganda standpoint... the effort was absolutely impressive. If I wanted to destabalize a first world nation, my information operations would have looked similar. And that is what should trouble you all. Our enemies know exactly what they are doing. Democrats know exactly what they are doing as well. Democrats are not only involved, but fully behind such propaganda because it distracts us from what we should really be talking about: how progressive leftists are trying to fundamentally change our great country. And the truly worrisome part is not just that it is dividing our side and distracting us from the real domestic enemy, but that it is convincing Americans, especially young Americans, that all of their problems are the result of a small faction of people ruling the world... It has already likely damaged multiple generations of Americans to an extent that I am not sure if we can recover from it, and now the VP is mimicking some of the same talking points as we head into midterms that may be the most important midterms in generations... We must push back, lest we lose everything that makes us great.
