I am proud to support @DrDawnHershman @columbiacancer for @ASCO Board of Directors. Her research has transformed how we care for patients with breast cancer, and she is Co-Chair of @SWOG. She is the most generous mentor I know and will represent us well. Please vote. Vision and video here - asco.org/about-asco/asco-ove…

A clinically valuable study addressing a real treatment dilemma in HER2+ breast cancer. Adding tucatinib after local therapy for isolated brain progression achieved 18-month intracranial PFS of 59% and extracranial PFS of 98%.
Durable CNS control while maintaining an effective systemic regimen—a thoughtful strategy with compelling results. Congratulations to the investigators! @drsarahsam 👏
Tucatinib added to HP is a nice option for 1L low volume brain only disease after local therapy.
Particularly in patients with no extracranial disease where the toxicity of ADC is not desired.

Switching ADC target does not work. Switching payload does.
Among 60 TOPO1-ADC-pretreated patients with MBC, using a microtubule (MMAE) ADC led to 30% ORR and DoR of 8.8 mo. #ESMO26 #ESMOAmbassadors
These results are absolutely astounding.
This should give us enthusiasm to study more IT targeted therapies.
I do need to understand in this trial who got concurrent TDxd as this is likely contributing to results.

Overall survival matters, but it’s not the ONLY measure of meaningful treatment benefit! For people living with #MBC, delaying progression may mean more time feeling well, maintaining independence & living life. Keeping cancer under control matters, even when it doesn’t mean living longer! #bcsm
