#ICYMI Discharge Petition No. 22 for H.R. 2102, the Major Richard Star Act, reached the 218 signatures needed to move forward.
"Congress still must vote on the full Major Richard Star Act when it returns in November. This is the policy we have advocated for since 2020, so we hope that new legislation will not divert from that momentum.” - @VFW_OfficeDC Executive Director Ryan Gallucci

🚨 ACTION ALERT: Veterans’ earned benefits should never be used to pay for other veterans’ benefits.
Competing versions of the Take Care of America’s Veterans Act (TCAVA) were blocked in the Senate, but the fight isn’t over. The VFW strongly opposes any proposal that would reduce future VA disability compensation to fund expanded benefits.
📣 Now is the time to make your voice heard. Tell Congress to remove the harmful pay-for and protect the benefits veterans have earned through their service and sacrifice.

Something doesn’t add up.
They are telling veterans this is a great deal.
So why does a bill projected to cost $21 billion rely on approximately $57 billion in projected savings from future veterans’ earned disability compensation?
That’s not protecting veterans.
That’s balancing the books on their backs.
Honor the contract.

US House, please recommit #TCAVA back to @HouseVetAffairs so Section 108 can be amended, ensuring no veteran benefits are taken away from current and future veterans.

Kumba is preparing for its final roar at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, with its last day of operation set for August 2 after an unforgettable 33-year run. When it debuted in 1993, the legendary coaster was Florida’s tallest, fastest and longest, while its towering vertical loop and signature roar helped make it one of the most celebrated roller coasters of its era. While fans will say goodbye to a true icon, the story isn’t ending. Busch Gardens has announced Kumba’s Revenge as part of a $100 million investment in the park, ensuring the spirit of Kumba lives on while ushering in a new generation of thrills. Have you ridden Kumba, and what is your favorite memory of this legendary coaster?

A Warrior's Warrior.
As I was installed as VFW Department of Georgia State Judge Advocate this past weekend, one face in the crowd stood out... my brother in arms, Earnest Lawrence.
Despite numerous medical battles, Ernie never stopped serving veterans and their families. His resilience, leadership, and no-quit attitude inspire everyone around him.
Thank you, Ernie, for your service to our nation and your continued service to others.
