If you need some cheering up, do yourself a favour and watch #StarTrekTNG's "Lessons" around the 15 minute mark. In these shots, Patrick Stewart is blowing into the flute but the hands are not his, they are "played" by a flutist. Look at the sparkle in Sir Patrick Stewart's eyes and the genuine smile on his face! 😊 Filming this scene, with the flutist lying on his back in front of Sir Patrick and reaching up to play, must have been absolutely absurd - but he's going with it, classic as ever! 😂😂

Here I am, sitting at my computer, crying and reading all the wonderful Patrick Stewart tributes. And funnily, my thoughts are with the #StarTrekTNG cast. I hope they are okay, I hope Marina Sirtis has somebody to hug right now. We all lost somebody important today. He was a role model in so many ways!

Sometimes I think this just can't be true. I'm heartbroken. Patrick Stewart (1940-2026) was a true legend, and for my generation the most important representative of Star Trek. His passing leaves an immeasurable void.

Today we mourn the passing of Walter Koenig, best known for his portrayal as Pavel Chekov in TOS and in seven feature films. He will be remembered for his lasting contribution to Star Trek and for inspiring generations of fans.

No, I'm not in a penalty box. I just figured it's time again for me to explain what I am doing here, especially for the next four months or so until we get new weekly #StarTrek episodes in the spring of 2027. It seems people sometimes don't understand why/how I'm doing this. So, here it goes! 1/10

Some of the new objects in Data's redesigned quarters in #StarTrekTNG's "Darmok"↖️ are familiar. There's his poker visor, here seen in "The Measure of a Man"↗️, his Sherlock Holmes pipe ("Lonely Among Us"↘️) and a black bowl from Kivas Fajo's collection ("The Most Toys"↖️).

39 years ago today, Star Trek: The Next Generation premiered with the 2-parter "Encounter at Farpoint." which included an appearance by DeForest Kelley as Dr. McCoy passing the torch to the new cast and crew. Were you watching that day? What did you think? #StarTrek

They really did it! They brought back the Tucker tube for #StarTrekSNW's "Tomorrow's Enterprise"!! This is not the original prop (3rd pic), that one must be in somebody's collection now. But they recreated this prop and now it can be used again and again in later #StarTrek shows or any other TV show! 😊

On this day sixty years ago, Star Trek began its long voyage with the broadcast of "The Man Trap". The rest is history. This anniversary is a moment worth pausing for. A chance to appreciate what we've been given: a universe full of stories that are engaging, thrilling and funny.

Heads up on the scaling in SNW.
Here are some shots we get of the USS Enterprise shuttlebay in #StarTrekSNW's "Human Best Friend". This is the best look we got at the set so far. I'll point out some fun details in the coming days. :-)

I've seen that, thanks to family and some #StarTrek fans who helped out, Bjo Trimble is participating in the 60th anniversary convention, so I think it's high time that I shared this story that I always tell my English students: one of the first English books I owned was the ST Concordance. 1/6
