27 years old, from Holon. A talented singer and naturally creative person, she studied music, designed and sewed clothing and costumes, and in 2023 was studying music production while dreaming of becoming a singer. Her family remembered her for her radiant smile, infectious laugh, generosity and love of life.
On October 7, 2023, Shani attended the Nova festival with friends from work. While attempting to escape, their car came under gunfire. Shani and her friend Eden Abdulayev hid in the back of the vehicle before eventually fleeing to a roadside bomb shelter near Re’im, where they were murdered.
May her memory be a blessing.

The government has cancelled a conference on remigration that had been planned for months, on the pretext that… it was Halloween.
@MartinSellner_ has just been expelled and issued an order to leave French territory almost immediately after entering France, in my country, where it is supposedly “impossible” to deport foreign nationals who are repeat convicted rapists.
My own country scares me.
We are witnessing an authoritarian turn unfolding right before our very eyes.

Karin Journo was a bright young Israeli Jewish girl with her whole life ahead of her when she was murdered in the "death ambulance" at the Nova festival.
Her body was so badly burned that only three teeth remained.
Many others were burned alive during 10/7.
Karin didn't deserve this.
Her family didn't deserve this.

I want to tell you the story of a young man.
Staff Sergeant Mr. Gali Shakoti — a 21-year-old Jewish Israeli guy in the IDF —who was in his pajamas when Hamas launched its invasion on October 7th.
He worked as a border guard in the army at 4:00am and had just fallen asleep before the Palestinians invaded at 6:29pm.
Not only was it a Shabbat (Saturday), but it was the holiday of Simchat Torah too, the holiday that marks the end of the reading cycle of the Torah, which millions Jews around the world re-read annually.
“He barely had time to put on his uniform, but he put on his helmet and vest and shoes and went out to battle" Gali's uncle told Army News Radio.
Moti said Gali helped to rescue some of his comrades who had been wounded and brought them to a hidden storage area before returning to the front lines.
He was ultimately shot dead by Hamas.
And for what??!
To start a war?!
His close childhood friend, Staff Sgt. Roy Elias, was killed fighting in south Gaza on December 23. Gali was buried next to him.
Elias’s sister, Hadar, told Ynet that when her brother heard about Gali’s death on October 7, “The first thing Roy said to me was, ‘What will I do without Gali?’
He wrote me on Whatsapp: ‘I can’t do it anymore, I see him everywhere I go.’ He was really shattered by it, he didn’t stop visiting his grave.”
Gali was described as an ambitious and hardworking young man. His family told Times of Israel news that Gali loved hanging out in the desert, his "happy place," and that he loved ATV riding.
In his teens, he fought to be put in a combat unit in the IDF. He died defending his country from the deadliest terror attack in its history.
About 1,200 people, mostly Jewish Israelis, died on October 7th. Many of them were liberal Jews who fought for coexistence with Arabs, like noted feminist activist or Haymin Katsman.
