Yesterday @BaptisteMouyss1 brilliantly defended his PhD in front of a jury of experts in #neuroblastoma, @CDB_lab, #metabolism, @jer_06200, #proteomics, #ChiaraGuerrera, and #drugrepurposing, @Xavier_Nissan.
His work focused on the development of

Mass spectrometry-based methods to explore the #Polypharmacology of approved drugs that are repurposed in oncology. This methodology has been applied to beta-blockers in #neuroblastoma & mebendazole in #glioblastoma.
This was done in collaboration with @MaP_Proteomique

We want to thank all involved @crcm_marseille, starting with @Marion_Le_Grand who looked after Baptiste and @laliguecancer that supported his PhD for the past 4 years.
Baptiste will leave a huge hole in our team but his legacy will be huge for the years to come.

I really don’t understand why academics keep complaining about writing grant applications, and how complicated and difficult this process can be.
I just finished writing a European grant, and I feel perfectly fine
It amazes me to think that the interactome of our drugs of interest is hidden in plain sight in those silver nitrate gels. It will take all the ingenuity of @MaP_Proteomique to reveal it.
Also, @BaptisteMouyss1 is an amazing supervisor - my gels have never looked so good 😂
Glad to be back in the lab after our @AssoWAugustine weekend away.
Even more so when I get to spend my day at the bench with @BaptisteMouyss1.
We’re turning the table around and my PhD student is now training me in Thermal Proteome Profiling or #TPP for the connoisseurs 😉
