A significant amount of the trans suicide rate is attributable to comorbidities - people who identify as trans also tend to have a bunch of other mental illnesses. But based on my own experience and those of people I knew, I also think it has a causal effect on mental illness.
It really is exhausting and deranging to stake your whole identity on your ability to create a false impression in the minds of other people. It’s not healthy to think that much about what other people think about you.
Yes this is anecdotal speculation, not proof, but I believe it.

The science was never "settled", that was a lie to prevent ppl from actually looking deeper into it. Now that they are, they are finding disturbing results.
A groundbreaking Finnish study just dropped and is the most robust look at the efficacy of transition, following a huge group teenagers who transitioned from 1996 until now.
It found that psychiatric morbidity and suicidality increased dramatically after transition and all metrics related to quality of life decreased.
The trans activists response? "More than half of the trans ppl studied didnt even transition!"
Yes, this is called a control group. It is required to establish a business for all the metrics studied, and it is how proper scientific research is done. It is precisely BECAUSE of this group who didn't transition that we know how poorly the ones who transitioned did.
The biggest victims of transgender ideology are trans ppl, who are being sold a lie that transition will cure their mental health problems when it only exacerbates them.

Any adult man with a wife and children who “transitions” to a “woman” is automatically a threat to his family and the public. All of them should be looked at with suspicion and extreme wariness. None of them should be allowed to own guns. They should all be legally required to undergo psychiatric treatment at the very least. Any man who is willing to destroy his family and bring unimaginable harm and devastation to his wife and children for the sake of his sexual fetish is by definition dangerous, delusional, and narcissistic to an extreme and unstable degree.
If there are people walking around who are too dumb to be punished for their crimes, then they very clearly should not have the same rights as the rest of us. It cannot be the case that everybody has the same rights, but only some of us the same responsibilities.
If he’s too stupid to be punished, then he’s too stupid to vote, too stupid to have a drivers license. In the case of immigrants, anybody who met this criteria would very obviously be too stupid to immigrate.
It cannot be the case that there is only one consequence for being too stupid and it’s that you can’t be punished for your crimes.
Immediately stop all "gender affirming care", not just for children, but for adults. It's not care. It's akin to having someone come into a doctor's office saying they are covered in bugs that aren't there and handing the person a razor blade to remove them.
This is not treatment. The entire industry has to be torn down.
