Ahead of #COP31 our CEO @camillaborn has written to the FT urging PM Andy Burnham & other world leaders to establish electrification as 'the delivery engine that improves energy security and lowers energy bills for good'. Read Camilla's letter here 👇 ft.com/content/3a48bea1-15bc…

🚨 The Govt announces new loans for heat pumps, solar & batteries 🚨 This is really positive. With upfront cost the biggest barrier to households going electric, govt-backed, no- and low-interest loans will be really helpful for people who can borrow [1] gov.uk/government/news/warm-…

The loan scheme is designed to sit on top of the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant of up to £9,000. This combination is what makes a heat pump affordable for a typical homeowner, so any cut to the BUS grant tomorrow would undermine the loan scheme [2]

The loans scheme will grow and develop as the market matures over time. We need to make sure that installers have confidence and can access the finance they need to train staff. This means wider certainty over policy & funding. All 👀 on #budget2026 tomorrow! [3]

Alongside > 100 businesses, charities, unions & and installers - including @IKEAUK @MitsubishiUK @unisontheunion & @age_uk - we've written to ministers urging them to protect the Warm Homes Plan in full. Read more in the I paper here: inews.co.uk/news/politics/75…

Cutting the plan now would leave households exposed to expensive oil & gas for longer; put jobs at risk; and send the wrong signal to businesses and industry. The PM has pledged to make people’s lives easier. Delivering the WHP in full is an obvious way to do that.

⚡ We were quoted in a recent Guardian column by @NilsPratley on the Jackdaw decision and the future of UK energy policy. But beyond this decision, a bigger question remains: how do we reduce our dependence on oil and gas? theguardian.com/business/nil…🧵

The answer? Electrify now. ⚡ We need a clear, joined-up electrification strategy that accelerates heat pump adoption, supports the shift to electric vehicles and makes better use of the clean electricity we're already generating. That means backing the Warm Homes Plan.

The longer we delay, the longer we're tied to expensive fossil fuels. It's time to shift the conversation from how we secure more oil and gas to how we use less of it. Read Nils Pratley's full column in The Guardian 👇 theguardian.com/business/nil…

The potential scrapping of gas standing charges is good news for electrification ⚡️ Moving standing charges to the unit price would close the price gap between electricity and gas - and make heat pumps more attractive because they’d be cheaper to run 🏡 ft.com/content/8eda2888-0b63…

A 116-year-old swimming pool is proving that clean energy can make a real difference. Since installing solar panels, Yearsley Swimming Pool has cut its grid electricity use by 53% and expects to save £25,000 a year on energy bills.

Lower costs means more resources can be invested where they matter most - keeping this historic community pool running for years to come. @Better_York @gll_uk #electrification #electrifybritain #yearsleypool #York #solarpower #communitypool

What can a 1,000-year-old cathedral teach us about the future of energy? At @York_Minster, solar panels are helping to reduce the building’s electricity costs by around one-third, allowing it to reinvest in the Minster’s other projects.

As Nicola Newby spoke to our CEO @camillaborn about the installation at the Minster, they discussed how data from the system is now helping identify opportunities to expand its impact even further.

Gillian installed solar at Rose Dene B&B in Scarborough 12 years ago. ☀️ Today, those panels are still working hard - helping power the B&B and charge her electric car.

Gillian’s electric car can be charged during the day using the solar energy generated on the roof and guests can use the charger too. 🚗⚡ As bills rise, her 12 year old investment seems pretty smart today!.

Back then, battery technology wasn’t quite where it is today. Being ahead of the curve has certainly paid off for Gillian! . ☀️ @RoseDene106 #SolarPanel #ElectricVehicles #SolarPanels #RenewableEnergy #UKHospitality #SmallBusinessUK #EVCharging #ElectricCar

⚡️ Heat pumps aren’t complicated. They’re about getting the design right - then letting the system quietly keep your home comfortable. At this home in Stowerby Bridge, we met Nick from Duo Heating & Renewables, an engineer since 17.

Nick has been installing heat pumps for five years, after retraining with @_heatgeek. Today, around 95% of Duo’s work is heat pumps. Get the design right, and comfort can become something you barely have to think about.⚡️
