On why Aegon II was not cut by the iron throne.
As the son of Viserys I and Queen Alicent Hightower, King Aegon II was the only ever reigning Targaryen monarch to possess Reachman blood, and by extension of his Hightower line through Alicent, the blood of Garth Greenhand, who was known by many tales as the High King of the First Men.
As the Iron Throne was forged from the swords of the Gardener army (who were also descendants of Garth Greenhand) that were gathered up from the Field of Fire, that steel recognized that Aegon II belonged to the Greenhand's bloodline. Meaning that only the descendant of Garth Greenhand was worthy of sitting on a throne forged from the steel wielded by his line.
