Lack of consideration is a sign of low intelligence, btw. So when youβre trying to figure out why they just donβt get it, remember they generally donβt get anything. Theyβre stupid. β₯οΈ

were they avoidant or did they just pull away from the relationship
the fact is you can spend months, sometimes even years, trying to get into somebody's head when what you might benefit more from is asking a different set of questions, questions like, 'when did they show up to the relationship'οΏΌ1/4

Today in trauma informed care - my surgeon just called to reassure me that her entire team is women, and that the only cis-man is the anesthesiologist - and that he will not be alone with me at any point. She told me she'd made sure that I'll be surrounded by women when I go to sleep, and when I wake up. She went out of her way to do all this to make sure a survivor could recieve the trauma informed medical care they needed. Women in STEM. The whole room will be women in STEM

To every woman in her 30s and 40s, you are not running out of time. You are still becoming.

One of my favourite translator stories is about a woman who was an ambassador for Hungary and once took a group of Japanese politicians on a tour.
She needed to explain what a merry-go-round was but couldnβt remember the Japanese word, so she tried describing it as a βhorse tornado for children.β
Naturally, nobody had the slightest idea what she meant.
Eventually, she started running around in circles while bobbing up and down to demonstrate it. Then the politicians finally understood and said, βOhhh, in Japan, we call those merry-go-rounds.β
Imagine being a professional translator and having to mime a childrenβs amusement ride to an entire delegation.

Maybe the last way I can show you that I love you is by finally letting you go. No more messages asking how you are, no more reaching for you when the nights get lonely, no more trying to explain everything I still feel. Iβll learn to carry the words I never got to say and make peace with loving you from a distance. If having me out of your life is what makes you happier, Iβll respect that, even if walking away is the hardest thing Iβve had to do.

If you ever fall in love, choose someone who pays attention to the little things about you. Someone who wants to know your favorite color, how you take your coffee, and what makes you laugh until your stomach hurts.
Choose someone who loves hearing your laughter so much that theyβll do the silliest things just to bring it out. Someone who rests their head against your chest to listen to your heartbeat, kisses you in public without hesitation, and proudly introduces you to the people in their life.
Fall for someone who makes you wonder why love ever frightened you. Someone who handles your heart with care, embraces the imperfections you struggle to accept, and sees beauty in the parts of you that you thought were difficult to love.
Choose the person who looks at you and thinks, βThis is the person I want beside me every morning for the rest of my life.β

Tipping culture has officially lost the plot.
I bought a $3.50 drip coffee at a drive-thru.
The screen flips around: 20%, 25%, or 30%.
For handing a cup through a window?
In the 2000s, tips were for actual sit-down table service.
WHEN DID PICKING UP YOUR OWN FOOD REQUIRE A 25% TIP?
Iβm not being cheap. I genuinely want to know when handing someone a cup became a tipped service.
