Honoured to close the Financing the #SDGs Dialogue in Madrid. 🙏 to 🇪🇸 for bringing everyone together.
The one core message is financing works best when it is anchored in national priorities & country-led.
The task now is to build on the momentum & turn ambition into action.
When women bear a disproportionate share of caregiving responsibilities, access to economic opportunities & choices shrinks, hindering gender equality.
More than ever, investing in care work is vital to raise the status of care work and create decent jobs.

When people have access to decent jobs, social protection, & the means to adapt to climate change, ending poverty is possible.

For the first time since 2010, the number of people living in multidimensional poverty has increased.
Our latest Global Multidimensional Poverty Index, published today, shows 1.2 billion people living in multidimensional poverty. More than half are children.
Yet 33 countries have halved poverty in under 15 years.
Progress is possible. This is no time to retreat.
