I have always admired @canva Have so many personal experiences. It really introduced something what can be called ‘ease of being creative’. Sad to see it announcing mass layoffs. This is the reason of my argument that #ai has made skills irrelevant. Canva had only eased creativity and today faces AI pressures. Skills won’t mean anything. I don’t know why we are still obsessed with skills and skilling. bbc.com/news/articles/cw77pg…

Analyse the recent financial results of Maruti Suzuki India Limited and we learn that the high decible chatter around #autotech is not yet reflecting on the balance sheet. Another interesting thing to note is that buyers in India have gone for alternative fuel giving CNG the first preference. Read more in this #InsightPro of ours.
Maruti Suzuki Q2 FY27: India’s Auto Tech Story Is Still Off the Balance Sheet - Maruti Suzuki sold a record 6.97 lakh vehicles in Q2 FY27, growing 26.5% year-on-year. - Conventional powertrains still drive the business, with CNG contributing 43% of sales. - EVs accounted for less than 1% of Maruti’s domestic sales, despite its 40.8% overall market share. - Connected cars are gaining traction, but no Indian carmaker currently discloses the revenue generated from connected services. When you do a true like-for-like comparison of #smartphone models and brands to see the actual price increase from rising memory costs, you get a clear picture of which brands and models have absorbed it and which have passed it on to buyers. In this #InsightPro, you get a clear view. Also, the brands likely to gain are those whose value has increased for buyers by either giving more, charging less, or both.

In June, Techarc and @TrakinTech warned that 54% of India's festive smartphone demand was at risk. The festive season is nearly done. Here's the scorecard. @8ap @r3dash

Buyers: 61.3% of the 1,126 retailers in our Retailer Pulse with @AimraIndia sold fewer phones in H1 2026, while only 39.3% saw turnover fall. Fewer buyers, each paying more. @LakhyaniKailash

Outlook: half of retailers were worried about the festive season, with ₹10k–₹30k phones under the most pressure. The warning held. The fight now is for the buyer who waits. The studies, all from Techarc: techarcinsights.com/announce… @techarcinsights

Here is @techarcinsights 's take on @Samsung's recently announced Q3 results. Yes, it's a fact that the DX division, which is essentially the business line responsible for all gadgets and devices, including smartphones, incurred losses. But it doesn't put #Samsung in trouble. The DX division's losses are less than 1% of what the DS division, which accounts for the memory and other components business, earned during the quarter. So DS is absorbing DX's losses. This puts Samsung in a unique position: a business division growing exponentially in revenue can cushion losses in the devices division for reasons beyond its control. So Samsung will benefit the most from this situation among OEMs. But that doesn't mean it won't have to make some tough calls. I expect them to announce some measures after mid-November. Predicted this in 2017. In 10 years we are in this age. By 2027, most of India will be using smartphones like this, and some will be using agentic-enabled smartphones.

On 29th of Oct, participated virtually in this panel discussion, part of @iustjk CoES&QM initiative to drive thought leadership in these futuristic domains. I contributed on the topic - From Lab to Fab: Advancing India’s Semiconductor and Quantum Ecosystem for Viksit Bharat@2047. It was so heartening to see deliberations talking place in domains of semiconductors and quantum technologies in valley which aligns with what I have been proposing for sometime now that we need to take silk and silicon along in the valley. That will shape the future of our economy and society. Compliments to Prof @shakilrom VC IUST and the entire IUST management for stirring such forward looking discussions in the valley.
