Today, I finally submitted what I have been working on.
Prevalence of Fibropapillomatosis in green turtles presented to Local Ocean Conservation Trust in Watamu, Kenya.

Dr Julius Kipngetich made a distinction worth reflecting on:
โSingapore had clever government that is brilliant people managing the common services, and not sharp boys.โ
There is a world of difference between sharp boys and brilliant people. Sharp boys know how to exploit opportunities for personal gain. Brilliant people know how to build institutions and systems that serve everyone.
Kenya needs brilliant minds managing public affairs, not sharp boys turning public office into a personal opportunity.

Ruto and his cronies are swimming in so much cash, I think they are desensitised as to really how much this money is in dollar terms. We are spending 150M for a table? I have so much anger rn!

As Kenyans, it is high time we look in the mirror and face some hard, uncomfortable truths. One of which is that we are not captive to corruption and incompetence by default. It is our choice. We vote for thieves and clowns and act surprised when they steal from us and do nothing to improve our lives. And worse? We donโt learn a damn thing from the past. That is why this government, even while reeling under the odour of mendacity, incompetence and corruption, will still likely be re-elected. Go figure!
All the houses in old town Solingen Grรคfrath have this rose symbol. Even their veryy old water fountain built by one of their mayors does.

How does mite infestation look like in a hedgehog?
There is a prickle close to our practice and we happened to spot one hedgehog with loose quills, some lost.

KRA tax audits are on an insane rise.
Many taxpayers who lose to KRA, among other things, do so due to poor bookkeeping.
So let me give you one tip so you do not set yourself up in the audit process.
During the audit, KRA will ask for many documents.
But one of those documents is a statement called BALANCE SHEET.
It is an extremely critical document to the tax auditor.
But it is also extremely misunderstood & underappreciated by taxpayers.
And it is not just taxpayers. It is equally underappreciated by a good number of accountants.
Like the name says, this document shows the balances. What is left at the end of the year. Ni ngapi zimebakia.
Example
- how much cash is left at end of 2026
- how much stock is left
- how much is left to pay your suppliers
- how much is left to be paid to you by customers
- How much of your loan is left to pay the shylocks, etc.
Let us say in your income tax return you said:
- You bought 1,000 pcs of phones
- You sold 700.
- You have 100 in the balance sheet.
Where are the other 200?
That question is extremely important to the tax auditor.
But it was triggered by your own data in the balance sheet.
Your purchases, sales and stock movements do not tell the same story.
This is why good bookkeeping is the first step in tax planning.
If you cannot hire one fulltime, outsource an A+ bookkeeper.

Mr President you found public debt at Sh8.7 trillion. Today it is Sh13 trillion. That is Sh4.3 trillion added in four years. The Controller of Budget is telling Treasury to stop borrowing because we have smashed the 55 percent debt ceiling. You do not reduce a mountain by standing on it and announcing it is a hill. #DeniBandia #ReKe

We are touching base and aligning, so we can make sure we are all on the same wave length, and pivot to the North Star, with a strategy that is not a silver bullet, but needle shifting change, ensuring there is a quick TAT on all low hanging fruits. I hope this answers you๐

You cannot be friends with someone who is not in the same wavelength, mindset, or lifestyle as you. Friendship needs alignment.
People who have not attained a certain level of self-awareness or discipline will often become uncomfortable in the presence of someone who has.
No matter how much grace, compassion, or patience you extend to such people, they will eventually feel threatened by the parts of you that remind them of what they have not become.
Instead of being inspired, they become confronted by their own shortcomings. And when that happens, two things often occur:
They will try to pull you down to their level to justify their inadequacies, or slowly buildup envy and resentment towards you. This is why outgrowing people is sometimes necessary; not out of pride, but out of self-preservation.

You call NCBA and a real person answers within moments. Your issue gets resolved. You hang up satisfied. You call a certain telecom, get routed through clueless bots...eventually you just give up. Strange how a bank can outperform a telecommunications company at communication.
