Now Russia uses fuel and China uses renewables to control European energy and economics.
- Germany sold its energy security to Russia, even shutting down nuclear. Now they depend on Russia or Qatar to function, and their manufacturing can’t compete with coal-fired Chinese industrials.

The Trump administration is preparing sweeping sanctions against the International Criminal Court itself, not just the individual judges and prosecutors it has already targeted, according to a Wall Street Journal report. The sanctions would bar most U.S. transactions with the court after a 𝐬𝐢𝐱-𝐭𝐨-𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧-𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐝 — long enough for the message to be unmistakable and short enough to actually bite.
The trigger goes back to November 2024, when the ICC issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐚𝐡𝐮 (@netanyahu) and then-Defense Minister Yoav Gallant over alleged war crimes in Gaza. Washington's position hasn't changed since: neither Israel nor the United States belongs to the ICC, and a court with no jurisdiction over either country issued warrants anyway.
This isn't a symbolic gesture. Sanctions against the court as an institution would disrupt its ability to purchase IT services and insurance, hire investigators, and even pay dozens of its own American employees. A tribunal that can't process a payroll can't run an investigation.
Washington already sanctioned individual ICC officials over the Netanyahu warrant. Going after the court's bank accounts is the next rung up — and it tells every institution watching that targeting an American ally's prime minister for defending his country carries a price the institution itself will now pay.

This comes after ICC issued an arrest warrant for Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu
The sanctions would likely prevent ICC from transacting in US dollars, which would be very crippling for the court.
Additionally, most transactions in general with the ICC would be prohibited.
Then-Senator Marco Rubio called for the ICC to investigate Vladimir Putin in 2022 following the invasion of Ukraine, and arrest warrants were issued in 2023.
However, the relationship with Rubio soured when they issued warrants for Netanyahu.
