• Ahead of World Savings Day on October 31, @EcobankRW is encouraging customers to build consistent saving habits through its Save as You Spend (SAYS) account, which offers an annual interest rate of 5.5%.
• The account allows customers to automatically save a percentage of each transaction made from their linked everyday banking account.
• For example, a customer who chooses to save 5% and spends Rwf20,000 will automatically transfer an additional Rwf1,000 into their savings account.
• Leonard Gahonzi, Ecobank Rwanda’s Head of Premier Banking and Affluent Market, said the service aims to make saving part of everyday financial decisions and support long-term financial planning.
• The bank said the initiative offers customers a convenient way to build savings gradually towards goals such as emergency funds, education, home ownership and business investment.
