A lot of people mistakenly think that Flare is only a network for XRP DeFi.
Yes Flare is the premier chain for XRPFi but this is due primarily to our data capabilities which make FAssets both possible and secure.
Flare is about decentralized data first. This is why we built Oracles and Confidential Compute.
You will shortly see Flare make some advances in its data utility serving the blockchain space far more broadly.

We backed Firelight because they are a highly serious team.
They have launched with some of the biggest partners in the industry from day 1.
There is space in the Firelight vault for additional deposits and Firelight is now available via Flare Smart Accounts.

I have been silently working on something exciting. How to deploy Flare Confidential Compute on Google Cloud. It is in the final testing phase, and I'm very excited. Stay tuned.

The recent XRP Ledger security fix raised a lot of questions and some misconceptions. Let's clear them up.
1. Was any XRP created?
No. XRP's supply was fixed at 100 billion when the XRP Ledger launched, and no transaction is allowed to create more. This bug was a way around that rule, and 3.4.1 fixed it 2 weeks ago.
You don't need to trust us on this. All ledger data is public, and explorers and data sites read it every day. New XRP would show up in account balances for everyone to see. There is no hidden place for XRP on the XRP Ledger, every balance is public.
We monitor the XRP Ledger 24/7 and have verified the supply throughout the history of the ledger. Others in the community verified this too, and anyone can do the same.
Transaction fees are destroyed, so the supply is deflationary. About 99.986 billion XRP exist today.
2. How did this go unnoticed, and what's next?
No normal payment comes anywhere near triggering it. It took hundreds of deliberately constructed operations.
AI makes bugs like this faster to find, for the bad guys and the good guys.
Together with RippleX and the community, we will ensure the XRP Ledger is protected against such vulnerabilities. This means radically applying Formal Verification and AI adversarial testing, collaborating closely with security researchers, and strengthening the bug bounty program.
You'll hear a lot more about this as we progress.
3. XRP Ledger decentralization at the core of this.
A public fix shows attackers where the bug is, and AI makes that fast. With a normal amendment vote, the fix would have been public for weeks before it took effect, risking network security.
As a reaction to this, the XRPL community came together, and among them the XRP Ledger Foundation, RippleX, core devs and validators formed a social consensus and agreed on a path forward that involves shipping the fix directly. Patching a live network is never trivial, so the plan was also designed to minimize disruption for everyone running on it.
We shared the build with the default UNL validators, using the contact details each one publishes in its xrp-ledger.toml file. Public binaries followed the same day, September 25.
No single party could make that call alone. Every validator and node operator chooses what software to run, and 3.4.1 only became required through a normal amendment vote with more than 80% validator support for two weeks. Protocol changes still go through amendments.
Big thanks to Cayden Liao and Veria AI for finding and reporting this responsibly, to the XRPL core developers for building and testing the fix, and to every node operator who upgraded so quickly, especially the validators.

Flare’s mission is to be the key infrastructure for critical data as finance moves onchain.
So far you have only seen one major example of this in FXRP.
Soon you will see that the industry trusts Flare for key data where failure isn’t an option.

Firelight just went live and we have have integrated them into Flare Smart Accounts.
This means you can 1 click deposit and earn yield on your XRP direct from the XRP Ledger.
Firelight also raised their deposit cap so there is space for new deposits.
New in Flare Smart Accounts: @Firelightfi.
Make your XRP the capital behind a protection layer for DeFi, in one XRPL signature.

Integrating Flare Confidential Compute enhances the trust layer for institutional adoption by enabling real-time, onchain verifiability of USDX reserves and thus manifesting its position as a trusted stablecoin in the Flare ecosystem.

Real-time proof of reserves, verified onchain. Confirming USDX is backed 1:1 or better without exposing any private balances.

Flare's data and compute inherit the security of the network.
So assets can work without showing the strategy, and outcomes can still be proven.
That is why the next wave of applications can be private and still verifiable.

I really want to enable users to borrow RLUSD against their XRP directly from the XRP ledger (using Flare smart accounts) AND receive their borrowed RLUSD ON the XRP ledger.
In order for that to happen I need the Wormhole RLUSD bridge to be up. For that to happen I need XRP validators to approve:

A good reminder on how finance still works today… the Central Bank of Netherlands just spent months moving $11B in gold from New York to London.
~70% of it never actually left the ground. It was sold in NYC and repurchased in London. This reminded me of a story from 2013 – Germany took four years (!!) to move 674 tons of gold, worth $36 billion from vaults in Paris and New York.
In the 10+ years between those two stories, crypto went from a $1.5B experiment to a $2.7T asset class + financial infrastructure with real liquidity behind it. What didn't change: central banks (and a lot of the world frankly) still moving value the way they did in the 1940s.
Meanwhile self-driving cars are navigating city traffic, AI has transformed how we work, Starlink gives you internet access from just about anywhere in the world. But the best way to move value isn’t to actually move it? It’s confounding…
This an ideal use case for crypto - storing and then moving value instantly, securely, around the world, at little to no cost. How are people still fighting this?!
bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
The Dutch central bank has transferred approximately 86 metric tons of gold from the U.S. and Canada to the U.K., seeking to shore up its contingency planning amid “increasing geopolitical unrest.”
Just over one quarter of the central bank’s gold reserves held in New York and Ottawa was shifted to London between March and August, the bank said.

Let's just rip this band aid off.
@SceptreLS is operating more than 1 single on chain identity on flare as an infrastructure provider.
This is strictly prohibited and not debatable.
The question is what happens next.
Management proposal is live and the severity of the outcome depends on co-operation.

Flare produces around 48,000 blocks per day, with an average block time of 1.8 seconds.
FTSOv2 operates at roughly the same cadence, giving applications access to block-latency market data.
That combination gives developers frequent state transitions with fresh data available directly at the protocol level.
