The sister missionaries just came over to wish me luck before I fly to London tonight. We got to talk about General Conference, our favorite talks, and what they meant to us. It was so beautiful!
I really loved the first talk of General Conference. He was talking about being a convert and I really related to that because it was quite lonely to watch the talks all by myself this weekend.
That first talk gave me comfort: maybe I'm the first person in my family, but God’s not done with me yet. I am just at the start of my walk of faith. There are so many people I can bring to Christ with the gift of song he has blessed me with.
I fly to London tonight and who knows what the Lord will bring. I'm grateful that I got to listen to General Conference to strengthen me on my journey and help me start a new life centered on our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. 🙏🏼

Aujourd’hui, à la pompe , j’ai entendu une jeune femme demander à deux hommes de la laisser tranquille .
Sans réfléchir, je me suis approché et j’ai dit :
« Alors, ton rendez‑vous s’est bien passé, chérie ? »
Elle m’a regardé et a répondu calmement :
« Oui, je te raconterai en rentrant dans quelques minutes. »
J’ai souri et ajouté :
« Parfait, je vais prendre ton plat préféré pour ce soir. »
Les hommes ont vite détourné le regard et sont partis .
Elle m’a soufflé un merci sincère, visiblement soulagée .
J’ai simplement répondu :
« Avec plaisir… on n’est jamais trop prudent. »
J’ai attendu qu’ils s’éloignent avant de regagner ma voiture , et en partant, une seule pensée m’a traversé l’esprit :
« J’espère qu’un jour, quelqu’un fera la même chose pour ma fille. »

This should be our response to anyone who getb excessively upset about:
* "Church culture"
* Some leader they didn't like
* Boring meetings
* Problems with members
* Lame activities
* Lack of focus on men
* etc
None of these are anywhere near important as the sacred, saving ordinances, yet they receive outsized attention. But getting upset over these trivial matters is like the heart transplant miracle patient whose life was saved, yet got visibly angry over the hospital serving him cold oatmeal in Elder @DaleGRenlund's story.

Your loved one who has stepped away from the faith already has a Savior. He is infinitely loving and mighty to save. They are in very capable, nail-scarred hands. Trying to control their faith usually creates more hurt. Letting the Lord be their Savior frees you to be their mom, their brother, their friend. Jesus Christ is working on them, and He's working on you too. The Lord sees far more than a membership record; He sees their heart. So let go of fixing, and enjoy the wonderful person in front of you.
