Some news: I’m delighted to share that I’ve been approved for an O-1 (“extraordinary ability”) visa and an EB-2 National Interest Waiver. Here’s my story:
America has always been a land of opportunity. As an immigrant, I wanted to earn my place in it. I originally came to San Francisco 12 years ago and was fortunate enough to meet @alisonmdarcy, who gave me my shot and told me to live on top of this hill! This week, I’m back in SF where it all began for @Techweek_ and it's been amazing to see the positive-sum nature of SF in full force. The O-1 asks you to prove recognition at the top of your field. The NIW asks you to prove that your work matters to the country, and that you’re the one to carry it forward. It took years of work, and a lot of people believing in me before there was paperwork to show for it. That’s the part I keep coming back to. Every door I’ve walked through, someone helped me. A huge amount of gratitude to @lighthousehq_ for guiding me through the process Minn Kim and the entire crew, and every CEO, Founder, and Leader who backed me and vouched for my work along the way.

Soooooo, Plug.Dev is three years old 🎂
Most people don't know this. . but I started Plug with about €7k in my bank account.
The first thing we built was a profile where technical creators could show their work and receive bookings. There was no company side and no revenue and I hadn’t set out to build an agency. After years of building developer communities, I wanted to make something useful for the people teaching and supporting developers.
I shared with a few creators I knew for feedback, then creators began sharing Plug with each other. The first 50ish creators signed up to our platform before we had a single devtool customer.
And when that first customer came, it was from a creator referral. There was no formal referral program or incentive. Someone we’d built for trusted us enough to put our name forward. More introductions followed, first from creators and then from companies.
Three years on, our team works with some of the world’s leading devtools. We’ve built a lot more than that first profile, but creators remain at the centre of Plug. We call them Creators That Code, and the approach we’ve built around them Creator-Led Growth for Devtools.
I’m grateful to the creators who got us started, the devtool customers who trusted us early on and the Plug team currently building what comes next. Thanks folks ❤️ ✌

Minister @HMcEntee kicked off her economic programme with a meeting with @EntIrl client company @granite_digital to discuss their growing presence in the U.S., including its latest acquisition of brand and design agency Right Hat.
From a start up in West Cork to an employer of more than 250 people across four continents, Granite’s continued growth reflect the strength of Irish enterprise internationally. With Ireland now the fifth largest source of foreign direct investment into the United States, the Minister highlighted the important contributions Irish companies continue to make in investment and job creation in the U.S.
