Looking for an easily accessible diverse set of genomes? We've got you! The HGDP+1kGP genomes have been jointly called and QC'd as part of gnomAD, complete with SNVs, indels, and SVs: biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…. Fully public resource, tutorials included, feedback welcome!

🚀 Excited to share our new preprint on RICE, a PRS framework that integrates common and rare variants to enhance genetic risk prediction across diverse ancestries! Led by my postdoc fellow Jacob Williams, co-mentored with @xihaoli. Check it out here: medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/… 1/N

Excited to share our preprint, describing a method for heritability partitioning with GWAS sumstats that significantly improves upon S-LDSC
Led by the fantastic Hui Li, and co-supervised by @XihongLin

I have exciting news!🌟 In Jan 2025, I will begin my position as an Assistant Professor at @UTHealthSPH in the Center for Human Genetics & Department of Epidemiology :)
I'm hiring at all levels, so please send your trainees my way!! More info at heylab.org 🧬
The lab has been busy these days! Some exciting new work:
- blended genome exome sequencing across >50k diverse genomes
- optimal PRS strategies in All of Us
- GWAS across dozens of traits in a Korean biobank
- deep dive into multi-trait genetics of lung diseases
We ran new Asian spirometry GWAS, then analyzed asthma, COPD, lung cancer, spirometry, and smoking together. Pleiotropy dissection illuminates non-smoking risk genes. We developed PRSxtra method that models SNP-level correlation between traits and anc's medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
Huge kudos to all the amazing trainees who have led these projects, including @KristinTsuo, @yingwangyw, @he_yix, @toniboltz, @Y_H_Jee, and many other supporting analysts. They are all fantastic to work with, and I'm excited for their bright futures ahead!

🧵 1/ What’s at stake with race-based equations for lung function? Clinical, occupational, and financial reclassifications for millions of patients.
I’m delighted to share this labor of love, published today in @NEJM and unveiled at #ATS2024.

Delighted that our review discussing @genome_gov's bold prediction that by 2030 diverse ancestries will benefit equitably from genomics (genome.gov/event-calendar/Bo…) is published in AJHG! Focus is on major societal uses: reproductive medicine and oncology. sciencedirect.com/science/ar….
- Oncology screening and treatment are much more uneven, vary by insurance coverage. Different types of cancers and stages at diagnosis vary in prevalence across populations.
- Modeling social determinants of health across areas of preventative medicine remains a major challenge
Huge kudos to @yingwangyw @he_yix and Yue Shi for leading the charge! I've learned so much from working with you all, as well as our wonderful collaborators!

4 years ago, we ran 16,554 GWASes for 7,271 traits across 6 ancestry groups and released the data to the public along with meta-analysis. After many careful dives through the results, we are happy to present these analyses on behalf of the Pan-UKB Project: medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
