Surprised at the surprise 🧐 w/ Target, WalMart, Home Depot earnings. 1) Americans spend $900B per year on travel; most spending close to $0 right now 2) new home sales in June were highest monthly since 2007. Hundreds of billions $ being redirected, not stuffed in mattresses.
On Tuesday Home Depot $HD posted blowout earnings. Sales surged 23%, profits jumped 25% despite hefty spending.
However, the real story of digital transformation is bigger than lockdowns, and it is only getting started.
