Last night at Dinner With Steve, a young guy told me he registered his car back home in Massachusetts — $60 for two years — because Sacramento wanted about $400 for one year on the same car. That’s the machine treating you like a cash register. When I’m governor we ABOLISH the DMV and cap registration at a flat $73. CHANGE IS COMING — join us. ☀️👊

Verified you say? In 2023, the New York Times credulously reported that a hospital had been hit by Israel because Hamas said so without bothering to confirm it. The hospital had actually been hit by a rocket from a group called, I kid you not, Islamic Jihad.

When the party at fault could be Israel or America, you publish unverified information from Muslim extremists. But when the party at fault could be Muslim extremists, you avoid speculation. You're activists too.

This isn't even what the civil complaint alleges
AOC makes WILD claims on Cornell 7: “Seven men drugged and gang raped a 20-year-old woman. They lured her into a frat house, drugged her with ketamine, and took turns gang raping her for seven hours.”
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The statement given by Jane Doe in 2024 states that she voluntarily used drugs, she engaged in consensual sex, and snapchat messages from Jane to the accused men have been revealed in which she doesn't blame or accuse them of wrongdoing. tompkinscountyny.gov/News-articles/… cbsnews.com/news/text-mess…

Sacramento’s been one-party for 16 years, so now they tell you how to live, what car to drive, even what tires to put on it. Becerra’s been in that machine for 36 years. California’s soul is freedom, not a nanny state: first $150K tax-free, $3 gas, your state back. WAKE UP CALIFORNIA and vote for CHANGE.

Respect does NOT mean silence. If every disagreement is “talking back” and every question gets “because I said so,” eventually you teach a child that authority means staying quiet. One day they’ll need that backbone. Teach them how to use their voice respectfully, not how to lose it.

Something that still doesn't get enough attention is the fact that cutting gov't jobs is a drag on the headline payroll number each month, but it's not a drag on the economy - gov't jobs fell 17k in Sep while private payrolls rose 46k:

$50,000 cars. Half-million-dollar starter homes. Thousands a month for health insurance. This is why Gen Z is desperate enough to try “democratic socialism”
New car prices just crossed $50,000. Up nearly $12,000 since Covid. 50 grand used to buy a luxury car that impressed the ladies. Now it buys an average car that impresses the loan officer. And leaves Gen Z riding a bicycle.

The Fed's easing off hikes with inflation leveling off and payrolls coming in weak. Good news if you're buying a house or car, but with inflation running 3.4% we've got a long ways to go 😬

Huge miss on nonfarm payrolls w/ Jul revised negative (again) but the employment level is screaming higher, up almost 1 million in the last 2 months as more folks jump back into the labor market, which is a welcomed turnaround:

About 4 out of 5 people who joined or rejoined the labor market last month found jobs, causing the employment level to surge higher by more than 400k, even as payrolls were little changed; additionally, private payrolls did better w/ gov't jobs seeing another net decline M/M:

The typical California household will save $11,074 when I’m governor! That includes cutting the RIDICULOUS taxes and regulations driving up grocery prices. Calculate how much you’ll save: savewithsteve.vote

Since 1948 the US unemployment rate has been under 5% just 37% of the time In the past 10 years it's been under 5% more than 83% of the time And most of that was during Covid In the 1980s the unemployment rate never once fell below 5%

🚨BREAKING🚨 The U.S. ran a $2 trillion deficit in fiscal year 2026, based on @BudgetHawks estimates. Interest costs alone were $1.1 trillion, and debt hit 100% of GDP. Not good! (link to follow)

He’s in luck: The ratio of total millionaires to billionaires in America is roughly 23,600 to 1.
I'd rather have an economy that makes 1,000 millionaires than 1 billionaire.

The next journalist covering Harvard Medical School’s concerns about federal research funding cuts should make sure to solicit comment from the medical school’s 2026–27 artist-in-residence, Roxane Gay.
🚨 At tonight’s Harvard Medical School event, artist-in-residence Roxane Gay responded to a question about the health insurance industry with “Free Luigi.” Minutes earlier, Gay admitted she uses concierge medicine after deciding to “throw money at this problem” and “buy my way out” of ordinary healthcare. Gay, incidentally, is former Harvard president Claudine Gay’s first cousin. We all know Harvard is morally bankrupt at this point, but this was a great reminder.

The constant extreme flattery, the power over $50 billion, the power to make or break thousands of scientific careers, the power to bestow millions in patent windfalls, the eagerness of allies to ingratiate themselves to that vast power by crushing any critic. The job of NIH director is inherently corrupting. It should not exist.

Don’t get so busy providing for your children that you forget to make memories with them. One day they won’t remember every gift, every bill you paid, or everything you were working so hard to build. But they’ll remember Daddy playing with them, chasing them, laughing with them, and simply being there. Work hard. Be ambitious. Provide. But make sure your children get YOU too.
