Dr. Abinet Aklilu (@Nephronette) presented a pilot RCT of dapagliflozin vs usual care in HF-associated AKI at #KidneyWk! n=30. Favorable trends in decongestion (⬆️ UOP, ⬇️ diuretic need) & AKI recovery, ⬇️ K repletion, & no safety signal. A larger trial is needed & coming. 👏

Congratulations to our program director Dr. Ursula Brewster, honored at #KidneyWk2026 for her year as Chair of the ASN Workforce and Training Committee. Growing the nephrology pipeline is slow work, and she has been at it for a long time. Could not be more proud!

🖤 IN MEMORY OF DR. STEPHEN ASIIMWE🙏
It is with profound sorrow that we mourn the passing of our beloved Pace Hiker, Dr. Stephen Asiimwe.
An adventurous, loving, and highly respected soul who brought warmth, friendship and an unforgettable spirit to our Pace family. Death has robbed us of a dear Pace buddy, but his memories will forever remain with us.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.
In his honour, we dedicate this Friday’s hill repeats training to his memory. We invite all Pacers to wear black T-shirts as we observe a moment of silence and celebrate a life well lived.
Rest in peace, Dr. Stephen Asiimwe. Your journey with us will never be forgotten.
